Dark Brotherhood Award Weapons
Note: The primary requirement for
using these awards as weapons in the ACC is they must have
been awarded to the user and attached to their dossier by
official means. In addition, the amount of any of these
awards, which one may carry into battle, are limited to how
many they’ve actually been awarded.
To use these weapons in battle, you must have skill points placed
in the specific weapon type to be able to use the weapons. You
may only bring a maximum of 2 of your awards with you to a battle.
Bonuses and penalties are 'combined' with the 'raw' stats of
the owner, and do not 'visibly' raise or lower the point
count. It is the responsibility of the owner, opponent and
ACC staff (when rating) to account for the weapon, its
status and effects it allows.
Some bonuses and penalties will raise or drop a character
into a different point scale (see the Character Sheet
Guidance in the ACC Compendium), these adjustments will
apply, without question, while the individual is in
possession of the weapon during a battle in the ACC or
meeting the usage requirements for the weapon/award. This,
of course, is limited to the battle for which it applies and
is not strewn across ‘all’ of a combatants active battles,
rather, just the ones where they possess the award per the
battle’s introduction. Loss of the award within a battle, be
it destruction or otherwise, negates the bonuses and
penalties at the instance of loss (reverting a users stats
back to the 'raw' numbers on the character sheet), and may
return based on the progress of the battle if possession is
regained.
Terms, Definitions and Philosophies
- Owner/User: Specifically refers to whom the
award was granted, by virtue of the member’s dossier.
- Possession: When a combatant is ‘in
possession’ of the item, the term refers to having the
item in hand, on their person or having a definitive
positive control over the item.
- Transfer of Awards: Bonuses and Penalties do
not transfer if an item is stolen in battle by an
opponent. These awards are ‘personal’ and traits
attributed for owners cannot be redirected to anyone
else, under any circumstances. If an owner fails to be
in possession of the item, the owner loses the
bonus/penalty until the item is regained.
- In Use: Some awards may require the item to
be used in a specific manner to attain it’s ‘inner
power’. The limitations on interpretation are only based
on the ‘intent’ of the usage, which should be clear.
Writers are free to elaborate on the explanations as
they see fit where “usage” is concerned.
- Declaration: At no time are any members
‘forced’ to use these weapons in battle, they may do so
as they see fit. Equally, if they are to be used, they
must be declared in the battle challenge as any other
weapon; their possession is not a "given".
- Destruction: For purposes of character
development and fictional continuity, all DB Awards
cited in this proposal are considered “virtually
indestructible”. They may be damaged, rendered
inoperable or seriously in need of repair, but at no
time can they ever be completely destroyed.
- Skill: The ability to use these weapons, or
the skill required, is determined in the same way as any custom
weapon or regular weapon
- Dual Handedness: Unless noted, all DB award
weapons fall under ACC standards for dual
wielding/handedness. In addition, should a member meet
these requirements, they must have been awarded the
number of awards that they intend to use; that is, they
must possess multiple instances of having the award
granted on their dossier.
The Weapons and Their Warfare
 |
GOLDEN LIGHTSABRE (GLS) |
| Codex Description: As much a weapon as it
is an award, this lightsaber is custom made and then sealed
in gold. Its blade also radiates a deadly golden beam. The
Golden Lightsaber is the highest award a Jedi of the
Brotherhood may obtain. |
| |
| Weapon Type: Lightsabre |
| |
| ACC Employment: The recipients of the
Golden Lightsaber have displayed exceptional ability in
their position (s) and have often gone above and beyond
their normal duties to aid the Brotherhood in its growth and
function. Such members are nothing less than pillars of the
Brotherhood, examples of what a great leader is and they are
awarded a weapon that is above all others. When in
possession, the GLS grants its owner +4 DEX and +4 STR. In
addition, the GLS itself cannot be the target of Force
powers from an opponent, adversary or anyone other than its
owner. |
|
 |
SILVER SASH (SL) |
| Codex Description: The Silver Sash is a
great honor for any Dark Jedi. Those who receive it may wear
it with their formal robes, telling anyone who sees them
that they are an important figure. |
| |
| Weapon Type: Armor |
| |
| ACC Employment: Beyond the elegant
nature of the Silver Sash is its mystical aura that seems to imbue the wearer with a greater connection to the Force. Such an increased connection grants the wearer a +2 to their Force-based stats (FP, FD and FR). So long as the Sash is worn, the increased connection is always active. |
|
 |
DIAMOND SWORD (DS) |
| Codex Description: Fashioned from the
finest gems in the galaxy, the Diamond Sword is the mark of
a fearless leader. |
| |
| Weapon Type: Sword |
| |
| ACC Employment: An unbreakable sword
whose invincibility is only overshadowed by its mystery.
Blaster fire, disruptor bolts and all matter of projected
energy toward the DS seems to vanish, until a point at which
it is expelled in a single, devastatingly focused beam of
energy. It cannot interact with a lightsabre, but it is not
destroyed by it either, slipping through the energy of the
blade like a hot knife through butter, the two can never
lock or engage. Awarded to members of the Brotherhood who
have shown consistent loyalty, innovation and activity in
their position for a considerable and impressive length of
time, the DS imbues its user, while in possession, with
clarity of thought (+3 FP) and Force application (+3 FR). |
|
 |
EMERALD DAGGER (ED) |
| Codex Description: This is a useable
dagger with a blade carved from a priceless emerald. |
| |
| Weapon Type: Dagger/Vibroshiv |
| |
| ACC Employment: Virtually impervious
to damage, the ED appears to be a standard dagger. However,
those who’ve had the prestige to have one awarded know a
much different tale. Beneath the gleaming, gem façade beats
a heart of darkness that renders any blade, save the
lightsabre, useless. Metals, alloys and other elemental
constructs of weaponry are shattered and devoured by mere
contact with an Emerald Dagger. Awarded to members who have,
over a substantial period of time, contributed to the growth
and functionality of their Order or the Brotherhood as a
whole, possession of the ED affords a resilience to its
owner that is seemingly increased (+2 CON/+2 FD). |
|
 |
RUBY SCEPTER (RS) |
| Codex Description: The Ruby Scepter is
the sign of a scholar in the Dark Side and its lore. A
short, silver-adorned club with a beautiful firelight ruby
from the mines of Antei, the scepter is engraved with verses
of the recipient's choosing from any book, tome, or Holocron
of Jedi lore. |
| |
| Weapon Type: Quarterstaff/Pole
Weapons |
| |
| ACC Employment: A bludgeoning weapon
of prestige, the RS is an exception to it’s weapon type and
most ACC dual handed standards. It can be wielded with 1
hand and dual employment of the RS is possible, with the
only necessity existing in the user having had at least 2
awarded. Much like the other awards of the Brotherhood, the
RS is virtually impervious to damage, apart from contact
with the lightsabre. The Ruby Scepter is awarded for
achievement and/or contributions in the area of instruction,
invention, and mentorship to one's Clan or Order and grants
+3 FR to its owner when in possession of the award during a
battle. |
|
 |
AMETHYST KUKRI (AK) |
| Codex Description: A sacrificial blade
formed from Sullustian Amethyst given a unique luster by
having been subjected to the heat and pressure of a volcano
for at least a hundred years. Through a custom process of
heating and freezing, each blade has the Brotherhood logo
embedded as a three-dimensional image near the hilt. |
| |
| Weapon Type: Sword |
| |
| ACC Employment: The Amethyst Kukri
was forged under tremendous strain, rendering it virtually
impervious to anything, save the famed lightsabre. Its
nature allows the unhindered interaction with training
lightsabres, the deflection of blaster bolts and the
dissipation of disruptors without effect. Awarded for
exceptional services in the form of single projects or
long-term leadership to a Clan or single Council office.
Bearers of this award have shown dedication and focus on
furthering one aspect of the Brotherhood far beyond the
norm. They can sense the improved interaction with life (+2
FD) when in possession of the award in battle and also seem
to be more focused with the Force (+1 FP). |
|
 |
SAPPHIRE BLADE (SB) |
| Codex Description: The blade itself is
actually four blades fashioned from a deep blue sapphire
found only on the world of Enon in the Decim system. Once
created, it is affixed to a custom hilt at the climax of the
award ceremony. |
| |
| Weapon Type: Sword |
| |
| ACC Employment: The Sapphire Blade is
incredibly strong due to its four-blade construction,
requiring considerable trauma to the surface of it’s blades
to even cause a scratch. It can resist common blaster fire
but rather than deflect, the nature of the weapon causes
energy projectiles to merely dissipate. Awarded for
consistent service to one’s Clan or Order under the guise of
multiple services over a long period of time, the possession of the award grants a +2 to CON for its
owner. |
