2. CHALLENGING Once you get you character sheet squared away, its time for a challenge. As an Initiate, you only have one of two options: Qualification or Training. A new combatant needs to qualify before they are let out amongst the wolves, this is to ensure that you are not going to have a miserable time. If you are simply not used to this kind of writing, Training is available as well. In a Training battle, ACC staff members will give you tips and point you in the right direction. Most times it only takes one or two training battles for an individual to get the hang of it, and trust us, it's usually worth the time.If you'd like to try and qualify, seek out one of the ACC Staff. Once you login and get to the ACC you will see a menu on your left. Select the 'challenge' link (not the 'challenges' link as that is your currently waiting challenges that haven't been accepted yet) which will bring you to the next screen. At that location you will select the individual you wish to challenge and the hall where you wish the battle to take place. Remember, Initiates can only Qualify (Proving Ground) or Train (Training Annex) with an ACC staff member. All ACC Staff members are listed under the Staff Assignments page. Trainers, Operators, the Deputy Combat Master and the Combat Master may all be challenged for both Training and Qualification battles. (As of Dec 6 2009, Trainers no longer serve specific Clans. All ACC Staff members are now open to the entire Brotherhood.) Once you have selected an opponent and a hall, you move to the next screen to select your weapon (s) and a terrain. With the exception of the Jester's Keep, you may only use weapons that you are qualified in (i.e. have points allocated on your CS for that weapon or 'type'). Terrain (or, Venues) may be seen in the Venues, Locations and Terrain section of the Compendium (currently found in the 'databanks' section). We ask that you use those primarily as there are a ton to chose from. However, if you wish to fight in a place that isn't in the guide, please include a brief description so the Operator may write a decent introduction for the battle. |
