CHARACTER SHEETS |
|
|
|
Species and Descriptions |
|
The following will be declined in the submission of a Character Sheet where
characters are concerned: |
- Non-Star Wars Species/Characters
- "Don't Know" selected for Hand
- Interbred species (half-breeds) of an unlikely nature (i.e.
Wookie/Bantha)
- "Shape Shifting" Species not described with a standard
appearance
- Descriptions of species that are not reasonably commensurate with
the species 'actual' appearance
- Races or Homes of origin in place of species (i.e.
Mandalorian/Iridonian)
- Humanoid, Sub-Human, Near-Human etc
- Heights, Weights and Descriptions that are not 'logically'
commensurate with the species
Note: Any information regarding your
character's abilities or possessions (in the description) are for
appearance only and will play no other role unless addressed in your custom
slot and allocated points. |
|
|
|
Custom Weapons and Armor |
|
The following are items that will be declined in the submission of a
Custom Weapon or Character Sheet armor is concerned All Custom Weapons must be
sent to the Combat Master directly for approval and inclusion into the Custom Weapon
Section: |
- Items that include resemblance to a lightsabre or any ability or
comparability to them
- Over-modification of standard weapons
- Two or more weapons (or types) in a single custom slot
- Utterly unrealistic (for star wars) weapons
- Weapons that 'define' damage (i.e. "this weapon knocks people
out...")
- Weapons that have an over-abundance of "Force ability"
- Cortosis ore in any form (or any 'sabre-resistant/proof' material), except in the case of ACC Armory
Weapons.
- Weapons that are imbued with 'shield generators' (not including
shield generators, themselves)
- Armor and/or weapons listed in the custom section of the CS that do
not have skill points allocated
- Armor/weapons whose descriptions contain a defined ability against weapons
|
| Armor (continued) |
Multiple additions to armor in a single custom slot are
not allowed, except as it applies to the following;
- The body (torso, arms to the wrists, legs to the
ankles etc) of the armor itself may have a maximum of 1
non-weapon attachment (bio-monitor; heating/cooling
etc), which does not include a helmet. Anything
else must be addressed in another custom slot or not
included.
- Gauntlets/Boots that simply act as part of the body
armor, with no ‘extra’ weapon function, may remain in
the body armor portion and not be counted as the 1
attachment to the body portion, but they are not a
given, they must be mentioned.
- In that state, a “pair” of gauntlets may also
possess only 1 non-weapon attachment, such as a
communicator, which must be mentioned.
- Should a Gauntlet (a pair, one of a pair or one)
possess any extra ability that can be deemed a
“weapon”, then the gauntlet must be placed in its
own custom slot.
- It is possible to have one gauntlet in the body
armor section and one gauntlet in its own custom
slot; just as it may be possible (and/or necessary)
to have each gauntlet in their own custom slot.
- Helmets will be addressed in a separate custom
slot, with their own rating and will not have more than
1 of each; Visual function and/or Audio function other
than a communicator. A communicator is a given standard
for helmets and does not need to be addressed.
|
| "Special Weapons" and Items |
- ACC Armory weapons are only awarded by the Combat
Master
- ACC Armory weapons "may" be disallowed in certain
competitions
- DB Award weapons are limited to 2 that may be placed
in a combatant's CS and used in battle
- DB Award weapons should only be disallowed by virtue
of allowing other weapons only, such as lightsabre and
hand to hand only
|
| |
|
ACC STANDARDS |
|
|
|
ACC 'Regular' Battles |
- Standard post time limit for battles is 14 days
unless otherwise stated
- The updating of character sheets 'during' a battle
is not prohibited, however:
- If an opponent has viable evidence of
changed ability that may have effected the battle's
outcome, they may challenge the rating of the battle
- If an opponent has viable evidence of
changed ability during an active battle, they may
request early administration of the battle in their
favor (under the guise of 'self promoting' - a
Critical Item, i.e. the self-promoting of one's
stats)
- The staff will determine the viability of your
evidence
- A 'regular' battle is defined as any ACC battle that
is not Training, Qualification, Championships, Special
Events and/or, in some cases,
ACCLive! and competitions
|
|
|
|
ACC 'Training and Qualification' Battles |
- Standard post time limit for Training and
Qualification battles is 14 days
- The updating of character sheets 'during' a battle
is not prohibited and may be encouraged to help the
Initiate
- Training and Qualification battles are defined as
any ACC battle that takes place in the Training Annex or
Proving Ground
|
|
|
|
Championship Ladder Standards (CHL/PCHL) |
- [CL:1] and above, only (i.e. you must be ACC
qualified)
- 72 hour post time limit
- Win/Loss does count
- Time-outs are rated at face value (i.e. no posts
required for a win)
- Post count per round; (1) 6+2; (2) 6+2; (3) 8+2; (4)
8+2; (5) 10+2; (6) 10+2; etc...
- ALL finals may be increased at the discretion of
the CM
- Championship Ladders (CHL)
- Lightsabre (Training Lightsabre) and Hand to
Hand only
- 'real' Lightsabres
will not be granted to those below DJK
- Venues selected by CM
- RoE allowed upon request only
- Piloting Championship Ladders
- Only the craft and its weaponry delegated in the
intro
- i.e. Pilots may
'assume' certain craft elements, based on
'realism' and dependant on the scenario
- i.e. 'Might'
include an "extra" TIE in a capital ship
environment; 'may' assume a craft's 'controls'
etc...
- i.e. If weapons of
a pilot's craft are explicitly stated, they may
not be added to or taken away
- Locations selected by CM
- RoE allowed upon request only
- All participants considered, at least, a 3 skill
in piloting
- No 'external/other' weapons are allowed to be
brought into the battle (apart from those noted)
- This does not negate using weapons if they
become available during the battle, based on
'realism'
- CS's for participants of ANY CHL/PCHL may not be
approved for changes once the ladder has begun
- "begun" = Once the first battle's intro is
posted
- CS's may be updated if a combatant is eliminated
|
|
|
|
GAME PLAY |
|
|
|
Initiates |
- Initiates must qualify in the Proving Ground before
they will be allowed to participate in the
ACC.
- Initiates may train as often as they like prior to
qualification.
- Initiates may attempt to qualify three
consecutive times before Training is mandatory.
- Initiates will not have more than one Qualification/Training
battle 'active' at one time.
|
|
|
|
DeathPosts |
- The deathpost is the combatant's last post of a
battle - all combatants get one.
- The idea of a deathpost is to 'kill' your opponent,
'die' by your opponent's hand, or 'end' the story.
- It is not a requirement to "kill" anyone in a
deathpost, but the battle must end, without question.
- None of the deathposts should be the same; They are
two 'different' endings to the same story.
- The standard is both
combatants write from the last "body" post to finish the story their own way.
|
|
|
|
Re-write/Re-use |
- No combatant may 'rewrite' a post or edit a post to
correct mistakes.
- No combatant may request that a post be rewritten or
edited for them
- No combatant may re-use a post (their own or someone
else's) from any battle
- Exceptions are; basic 'elements', phrases of
speech, terminology, fighting sequences and other
singular items which may be part of a combatant's "tool
kit"
- At the very least, works should be re-written to
maintain their originality, exact duplicates will be
docked
|
|
|
|
Weapons |
- The skill allocated to Shurikens (or Thrown Weapons
like knives) indicates accuracy.
- Shurikens are capped at 15 if not addressed by the
combatant.
- The skill points to Thrown Weapons, i.e. Grenades/Explosives, indicates how many can be carried.
The following decree is temporarily in place concerning
weapons brought into an ACC battle
- No member may carry more than 1 two handed weapon
into battle, regardless of type.
- No member may carry more than 2 weapons of a single
weapon type into battle;
- this includes 'special' weapons such as ACC
Armory weapons and Award weapons.
- This does not apply to Shurikens/Thrown weapons.
- ALL Shurikens (and any small, thrown type weapons,
not of another weapon type, that may be considered the
same type in either appearance or purpose) are capped at
15.
- No member may carry weapons of more than 3 weapon
types into a battle.
|
|
|
|
Dual Weapon Requirements |
|
Combatants who do not meet the below criteria for dual
handedness may choose to use the format in the
Character Sheet Guidance (see the compendium) to achieve the skill. |
- Dual Lightsabres: 1/Jar’Kai -OR- 1/Shien & 5/Soresu
-OR- 1/Sokan & 5/Makashi
- Dual Bladed Lightsabres (i.e. Sabre Staffs):
1/Juyo -OR- 1 /Shien & 5/Shii-Cho
- Dual Handedness Procedures:
Character Sheet Guide explains policy and set up
- Dual Handedness Procedures:
Weapon Databank establishes skills required
- No combatant may wield dual weapons that are of a
two-handed nature (i.e. rifles, quarterstaffs).
|
|
|
|
Force Powers |
- Participants may only use Force powers associated
with their rank.
- Based on writing, Force use should be commensurate
with the fighter's stats and ability.
- All battles are under the scrutiny of the
Force Pool System, which is a
part of the 'continuity' criteria.
- The use of Force power annotations is mandatory, for
guidance see Writing ACC Annotations in Ch 1 of the
Compendium.
- Clan Force Powers are not available for use in the
ACC, except in the Clan Hall or when allowed by specific
competitions.
|
|
|
|
DB Rank and Stats |
- All combatants remain the rank that they began the
battle with, for the duration of that battle
- All combatants maintain the attributes they began
the battle with, for the duration of that battle
|
|
|
|
Training Sabres |
- Training sabers can not cut. They singe, sting, and otherwise
annoy, but they cannot cut anything.
- Training sabres cannot 'kill' based on the strike of the blade.
- Training Saber blades can be cut by regular lightsabers.
- The
unfocused beam of a training saber is vastly inferior to the power of a *regular* lightsaber.
- Training saber can parry and block other training sabers, not regular lightsabers.
- If by some sick
twist of fate one gets used against an elder, they can not block
Force Lightning [FL].
- Training saber *can* block regular weapons, like swords
in a limited capacity.
- Training sabres may only be used when on the combatant's dossier
and allocated on the CS.
|
|
|
|
TIME & WITHDRAWAL |
|
|
Time Out; a battle 'time out' is when a combatant
has failed to post within the specific post time
requirements of a battle
Draw; a battle is 'drawn' when a combatant
voluntarily withdraws from a battle |
|
|
- The official time keeping device of the ACC is the
time-stamp that is attached to a combatant's post, not
auto generated e-mails or messages
- Time Outs and Post Time limits will be
assessed by the time stamp, unless the battle has
been extended
- Timing out a battle is a manual operation completed
by the staff, thus at the mercy of their schedules
- If a post is made (beyond a time limit)
before the staff can rate it, a time out may be reconciled by e-mailing the CM and DCM, stating a post has gone over the time-limit and putting in a link to the battle, prior to making another post
- Draws are manually accomplished by combatants via an
option in their "my battles" queue
- This operation automatically sends the battle
to the Judges queue
- Regular battles and multiplayer formats that 'time
out' or 'draw' with no posts by any of the combatants
will be deleted.
- Regular battles and multiplayer formats that 'time
out' or 'draw' with only a single post made by a
combatant will be deleted.
- Time Out Only; If the effort of the single
post warrants it, Judges “may” rate it in favor of
that combatant (rare)
- Regular battles and multiplayer formats that 'time
out' or 'draw' with at least 1 post by each combatant in the
battle will be handled as such;
- Time Out: The combatant, or team of the
combatant, who failed to post acquires the loss
- Draw; The battle will be set to "unknown"
status from the queue
- All participants will be included in an
email to the opponent(s) of the person(s) who
drew the battle
- They will be asked if they wish to take the
'win' for the draw and will have 48 hours to
reply
- The battle will be rated based on the reply
to the email:
- Yes = win/loss tallied as requested,
per battle specs
- No = deletion of the battle
- No Reply = deletion of the battle
- Training and Qualification battles are handled via
standard rating (win/loss)
- Battles that time-out because of a staff
member in a Training or Qualification battle will be
handled on a case by case basis.
|
|
|
|
Battle Extensions |
- If a combatant needs to request an EXTENSION,
to avoid timing out, they must mail their opponent, the
CM and the DCM before the battle times out.
- In most cases, extension requests made by a
combatant who's turn has not yet come, will not be
considered until after their opponent has posted.
- Their opponent must reply to accept the extension
before the battle times out.
- Failure of the opponent to reply before the battle
times out is
considered a denial of the request.
- INI's in a Training or Qualification match needn't
reply to Extension notifications sent by their TRN or
OPR.
- If they don't choose to wait, they may request
another staff member to take over or challenge for a new
battle.
- Battle extension requests should include a date for
when the battle needs to be extended to and a link to the battle.
- No battle may be extended for more days than the
post times for that battle initially allowed.
- For
instance, a 'regular' ACC match will not be extended for
more than 14 days
- If a date is not supplied, the staff will grant half
the days allotted based on ACC standard time or competition specifics.
- The new date posted in the comments of the battle,
which concern the most recent extension, is the date
that applies to the post time. That is, the post time is
counted, upon approved extension, from the date in the
comment section of the battle, not the date of the last
post.
|
|
|
|
DISQUALIFICATION |
|
|
|
Sportsmanship |
- Any combatant (or staff member) caught cheating will
be disciplined.
- Any combatant (or staff member) caught 'padding'
anyone's win/loss record will face expulsion or
suspension.
- Arguing with a staff member's decision may be cause for disqualification and/or
dismissal.
- Verbal or written defamation upon any member of the
ACC may see your battles deleted and CS removed, without
notice.
- Writing in a way as to defame your opponent,
with RL intentions, will be cause for disqualification.
- Failing to meet or adhere to the requirements of an
ACC event, hosted event or competition using the ACC, to
include the rules of the ACC, will be cause for
disqualification.
- OOC's (out of character comments) are not acceptable
in any form, in any battle in the ACC, unless provided by
the staff.
- Excessive, uncensored profanity and/or *overt sexual
references may be cause for
disqualification or editing by the ACC staff.
*Note: added 24 Nov '06 "The Combat
Master has the right to edit out text which he deems to be
inappropriate given the Dark Brotherhood's basic PG-13
nature. ~GM Cotelin" |

Disqualification Requests (Official Complaint)
|
The following are the procedures to
follow if you are involved in a battle and feel that your
opponent has breeched a standard of the ACC. This can be
anything that would cause the opponent to be disqualified,
either indicated in the Rules or the Compendium, to wit; you
are seeking closure of the battle and the win by default.
|
- What is an "Official Complaint"?
- An Official Complaint is a mail sent to the CM and
DCM, CC'd to your opponent and includes the
following: Your ID line, Your opponent's ID line, a link
to the battle, the specific infraction, what
rule/guidance it violates from either the ACC Rules or
Compendium and the action that you want taken.
- You must file an official complaint during the
battle, when the incident occurs - before you post
again.
- Continuing the battle tells us that you either a)
didn't notice the infraction or b) didn't care at the
time.
- Continuing the battle is also your concession to the
possibility of the infraction being missed in the
rating, thus, you may lose despite it.
- If the battle is during a competition that has a
time limit - the time limit may be waived based on when
the "Official Complaint" was received.
- It is the responsibility of the combatant to ensure
they approach such matters, as filing a complaint, in a
timely manner.
- Your opponent will have the opportunity to
"explain" their side of things
- The opportunity has a short window of 24 hours from
the receipt of the Official Complaint mail by the CM.
- "I didn't know" is not an excuse that will be looked
at too seriously - especially if you are above the rank
of [CL:1] or have taken the AIC in matters that are
addressed by it.
- You may request disqualification of your
opponent.
- It is perfectly acceptable to request a DQ of your
opponent, the rules/guidance are there to protect the
individuals that follow them.
- An 'official complaint' that does not request
some sort of action outright will be ignored.
- The decision will be rendered as quickly as
possible so the battle can continue or be closed.
- If the Official Complaint is deemed viable, the
match win will go to the opponent of the individual
disqualified.
- If the Official Complaint turns out to be a
misunderstanding of the individual citing the
infraction, the battle will continue with no further
action.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Critical Items |
- A combatant who uses a weapon that was not addressed, present in the
venue or allocated by the battle's
introduction.
- A combatant who 'self promotes' (to include stats if evidence is
viable) during a battle (i.e. You remain the rank addressed in the intro for the duration of the battle).
- A combatant fails to fulfill the role of a deathpost as it applies
to the battle specifics.
- A combatant times out without notifying the parties concerned and
having an extension granted.
- A combatant 'kills' their opponent (or themselves) before the deathpost.
- A combatant disregards damage, stats, force use limits (not to be
confused with the FP system) and/or character attributes/traits to the
point of severely hindering the battle's realism.
- A combatant posts in such a way as to prevent their opponent from
'realistically' continuing.
