Degrees, Limited Courses, and Old Courses
If you look at various member dossiers, you may notice that some members have items displayed in their Shadow Academy portion that you can't find on the Shadow Academy site. These items are Dark Side Degrees, Limited Courses, and Old/Removed Courses. This page explains briefly what each of these are for your reference.
1 - Degrees
The degrees come in two categories: service and academic. You can find all the information at this wiki article.
2 - Limited Courses
Limited Courses are courses that are offered semi-regularly, depending upon the schedule of the course instructor. These are the courses that can earn you a Dark Sage degree. Currently, the only course offered under this program is the Advanced Writing course by Oberst. This particular course is offered approximately twice a year and you must sign up for one of the limited spots in the class. Watch the news page for announcements as to when sign ups are being taken.
3 - Old/Removed Courses
From time to time, courses are removed from the Shadow Academy for one reason or another. However, the courses are not removed from the database and they will still show up on the dossiers of people who took and passed them. Currently, the following courses are no longer offered (reasons provided in parenthesis):

- PHP Programming (lack of interest)
- ASP Programming (lack of interest)
- Safe Computing (lack of interest)
- Leadership Applications (merged with general leadership)
- Photoshop (lack of interest)
- Starfighter Tactics (old and outdated)
- Imperial Starfighter Technology and Engineering [ISET] (replaced by comprehensive starfighters course)
- Enemy Starfighter Technology and Engineering [ESET] (replaced by comprehensive starfighters course)
- Marksmanship (merged with Weapons Basics)
- AOL Instant Messenger (lack of interest)
- MSN Messenger (lack of interest)
- ICQ Studies (lack of interest)
- Test of Agility (merged into Test of Power)
- Test of Endurance (merged into Test of Power)
