Physical Description

Atra's towering form typically stands a head above most of his peers. His shoulders are broad with a broad chest that drops to a more slender waist. His body is conditioned and fit, showing the signs of his physical training while his skin is so pale that it appears to glow when reflecting moonlight. His entire back and right arm are covered in burn scars that creep over his shoulder onto his chest, adding to the battle scars that mar the rest of his flesh in a criss-crossed tapestry. Notably, a vicious scar passes across his torso from his left shoulder towards his right hip, accompanied by the faded remnants of a slash through his right side. There is also a faded scar running through the outer edge of his left eyebrow and down his cheek. His dark grey, nearly black hair is kept messy and of medium length, while he has thinly trimmed facial hair in the form of a full beard. He possesses sharp cheekbones while the rest of his face has a soft almost sad quality to it. When he speaks, he does so with a subtle but noticeable lilting accent.

He carries himself casually, with a lightness that stands at odds with the visible muscle structure of his body. The sclera and iris of his eyes are black, while golden flakes around his pupil form a starburst pattern. The paleness of his features, framed by his dark hair, offer a stark contrast.

I Think It's Good, Except It Sucks (General Aspect)

Atra has a fully developed cocksure attitude that is often deceptive due to his quiet nature, making it more subtle but it is there nonetheless. He holds confidence in himself and the steps he decides to take, even when lacking cause to do so. Personal experience, after all, is the best teacher, while others are hazardous to trust. Should he make a mistake, Atra falls back on his belief that he'll be able to handle anything. He fully expects that no plan would survive first contact, so there's no need to worry beyond that. Still, even when he isn't the smartest person in the room, Atra is certain he's the most correct one, and he doesn't make an effort to hide it.

As a result of this, he will generally disregard the experience or perspective of others over his own. Often to his own detriment, making things harder for himself.

Living Calamity (General Aspect)

Atra was once a monster of necessity, seeking to bend the galaxy towards his own ideals. However, having come to the conclusion that only complete destruction would ever result in lasting peace, Atra turned his back on the very cause he had dedicated himself to. Instead, he decided to avoid making an impact and shed his monstrous shroud, focusing entirely on the collection and curation of knowledge both new and old. His actions are driven by this purpose, seeing him often travelling from place to place and securing deals when necessary.

But the scars of corruption run deep, and power will always have an impact. Like the eye of a storm, Atra presents as a calm sage but remains an unpredictable calamity beneath the surface. Push too far in any one direction and the storm's destructive nature is revealed, whether intended or not...for good and for ill.

Pitter Patter (Personality Aspect)

Atra has no patience for anything he deems "not worth his time". This is most obvious when it comes to honorifics, with Atra showing an almost pathological aversion towards the use of titles, often referring to others regardless of rank by their last name. To him, respect is something earned by every individual and is never conferred by a mere title, making it a waste of effort to recognize. This tendency to "get at 'er" continues in all aspects of his life. Whether it be an unwelcome advance or a looming confrontation, Atra will always opt to ignore anything he deems wasteful before facing it—usually with more than the recommended dose of sass.

This quirk runs Atra afoul of those who put stock in their titles and even those with any sense of pride. After all, it's easy for situations to escalate when it's obvious he couldn't care less.

Enter the Crucible (Personality Aspect)

Confident, calm, and sarcastic are the words that could best define Atra. While remaining relatively quiet, Ventus isn't one to waste opportunities to ply his scathing wit or offer up his opinions. He is uncompromising in his views, holding little regard for the philosophies and religions of others, and equally unashamed in his actions. That means nothing is off-limits. He combines rumor and observation—even those directed towards himself—to cultivate jokes and barbs that he relishes unleashing upon others. Still, at least in his own perspective, Atra is pushing others to be better than they are through his dry observations. To temper and forge them within his crucible.

No two people react the same, a fact Ventus disregards. While some are spurred on and even welcoming to his remarks, others turn against him. Often, Atra's antics leave him seeming antagonistic, at odds with those that don't share his humor.

Already Won (Combat Aspect)

Atra Ventus knows that most battles are lost long before the final blow. It is something he seeks to leverage at all times. He values an opponent's thoughts and reactions as much as their combat ability, putting pressure on them verbally to gather more information. He turns them into a puzzle to be solved. Combat itself becomes secondary to this mental war, and he won't hesitate to settle into a lull in favor of what he considers to be the more important battlefront.

While understanding and, potentially, breaking another person mentally is a reliable method, no two individuals function the same. It's a tightrope between tipping matters in his own favor or sending things off the deep end. A foe could be built up just as easily as they're torn down. Perhaps they're afflicted by a madness that makes such efforts just a waste of time. Still, one should always try.

Reap The Whirlwind (Combat Aspect)

Atra Ventus has learned to accept the power he once abhorred. In embracing it, he has cultivated a technique of combat that combines physical ability with the metaphysical likes of telekinesis and even using lightning for fatal strikes or emergency defense. Atra Ventus's method is to remain in a centralized space, moving only as much as he has to in order to avoid attacks while using the world around him as his weapon. He'll bring in debris—even creating it when not freely available—to block and strike his targets while personally striking those who get close—though he'd prefer to never let them do so. When facing difficulty, Atra Ventus will use his lightsabers instead of debris.

This heavy focus on the Force allows him to stand as a powerful foe, but he will tire quickly against ever greater numbers of combatants and is at risk of succumbing to those who can outlast him.
