Physical Description

A towering giant of a man, Tarvitz stands at almost two meters tall with shoulders one third as broad. Powerfully muscled and sturdily built, both his weather-beaten pale skin and his body reflects a life of constant conflict and hardship above all else. A network of scars from blades, slugs, fangs and blasters covers every inch of his torso, with each ranging from small nicks of daggers to the carbuncled craters of high power energy bolts. Both forearms are no different. One is marred by an unnatural crease of smoothed flesh from the near miss of a turbolaser bolt, while the other retains the markings of exposure to molten metal.

Tarvitz’s shoulder length black hair is streaked with grey, and though messily unkempt he keeps it swept back and clear from his eyes. This leaves the gunmetal half-mask of a cybernetic implant visible for all to see, which dominates one side of his head. With the skin at its edges dotted by burned tissue and deep scarring, it occupies the now empty socket of his right eye. The pale green glow of its optic sensor clashes with the soft blue of his origanic eye, and gives his once patrician features the impression of faded nobility.

“What doesn't kill me isn’t trying hard enough.” (General Aspect)

Every scar on Tarvitz’s body carries a story, each marking one moment in a life of constant combat. Most were earned in decades spent hunting for relics of the bygone Jedi Order, but they also reflect a relentless determination to improve himself through battle. Measuring himself against Sith Lords, petty criminals, and even his own limitations, Tarvitz will constantly fight to equal and then surpass his enemies. This makes Tarvitz a relentlessly tenacious foe with decades worth of experience to help him predict his opponents’ actions, and one who rarely repeats his mistakes. However, his frequent brushes with death have left him with a blasé attitude towards the possibility of his own demise. This can be unnerving to both allies and enemies alike, especially those less familiar with the horrors of war.

The Eternal Crusader (General Aspect)

Originally a Jensaarai Defender operating within Brotherhood space, Tarvitz fully pledged himself to Clan Odan-Urr’s cause following a vehement disagreement with the Saarai-kaar. While this effectively exiled him from the Order, it was ironically only following this event that Tarvitz more freely accepted their teachings on aggression. Having once opposed them, Tarvitz’s time in the Brotherhood convinced him to utilise these tenants in enhancing his fighting prowess. In combat he combines this with the joy of facing a new challenge in order to offset the baser instincts which lead to the Dark Side. Tarvitz uses this righteous fury to relentlessly fight against any who might threaten the clan, but must constantly focus on the fight itself over any satisfaction in an opponent's death. Should he fail, it would be a first step down the path leading toward the Dark Side.

Fly on the Wings of Despair (Personality Aspect)

With a life shaped more by tragedy than victories, Tarvitz would have every reason to be bitter at what fate has given him. The destruction of his ancestral homeworld Alderaan, the loss of his family, and his self-exile from the Jensaarai Order have all served to lead him down a darker path. Yet Tarvitz couldn’t be happier, for where better for the light to go than where it is needed most? Tarvitz uses them as a constant reminder that his role is to defend others, and gives thanks for every moment where he can stop others from suffering what he went through. Yet a darker secret underlies his boisterous nature. A vision of the future haunts his actions, one which promised that he will die in combat, in the doorway of ten lights. Tarvitz is merely trying to make the best use of his years before it comes to pass.

“If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.” (Personality Aspect)

Tarvitz has long since accepted that the war between light and dark is unending. No matter what the Unifying Force promises, there is no grand plan, no final victory, or great reward for his efforts in the end. Yet rather than giving into nihilism, this has only emboldened his resolve to do better in life. Rather than focusing upon the bigger picture or performing sins in the name of a greater good, Tarvitz focuses squarely on the problem ahead of him. Years of following an ideology emphasising living in the moment has given him a knack for practicality and improvisation in resolving problems, while his layman’s wisdom has led to solutions which more complex thinkers overlook. Equally, this has helped him to typically look beyond cultural biases to recognise an individual’s qualities, judging each encounter on a person-by-person basis rather than using generalizations.

If It's Stupid but It Works... (Combat Aspect)

The best swordsman in the galaxy doesn't need to fear the second best swordsman in the galaxy. Instead, they fear the idiot willing to attempt tricks that they are never prepared for. To this end, Tarvitz will occasionally eschew conventional attacks in favour of outlandish tactics or unfettered pragmatism. These moments are typically reserved for opening up an enemy to a killing blow or to allow Tarvitz to withdraw and then re-engage from a position of strength. While each has served him well in the past, and Tarvitz will often tailor them to oppose the greatest strengths of his enemies. Unfortunately, while an excellent tactic when working alone, he finds it difficult to employ when working alongside allies. Without prior planning or a leader to fully coordinate their efforts, Tarvitz struggles to consciously employ them in a manner which will benefit a wider group.

Dragonslayer (Combat Aspect)

From the moment he first picked up a weapon, Tarvitz has never fought a fair fight in his life. In every encounter, from duelling Jensaarai Apprentices to facing pirates, he has always found himself outnumbered, outgunned and outmatched. Because of this, Tarvitz has come to mentally break down fights into a simple contest of strengths and weaknesses: One of which must be denied, the other exploited. Pragmatically analysing his opponents’ skills between every blow, Tarvitz will adapt even the most basic elements of his fighting style to better exploit an enemy’s shortcomings. Utilising anything from lightning fast hit-and-fade attacks to berserker charges, Tarvitz will use any tactic, the environment and even his enemy’s own weapons to overcome them. This has come at the cost of having no single style of fighting in which he excels, but it has prevented Tarvitz being pigeonholed in terms of personal skill at arms.
