Avery Watson stands at six-foot-three, with an athletic build that he takes extra care to maintain with daily visits to the gym. Watson has sharp, clean-shaven, handsome features with a straight nose and prominent hazel-green eyes that crinkle when he winks and smiles. On top of his head is short to medium-length light-brown hair that he spends time sculpting into a slick-back style in the mirror before daily encounters. Avery has a full set of lips that are almost permanently in an affectionate smile that is easy on the eyes. From spending too many hours inside with his profession, his skin is a cool-beige, which is paler than most. Despite his best attempts to keep his skin flawless, an incident involving a grenade scarred most of the right side, including his upper leg, arm, abdomen, and neck. On the small of his back there is a small birthmark that resembles a broken heart.
If it has an electronic circuit or gears,Avery Watson thinks he can fix it; everything from holopads to starships. To Avery Watson, even the most random assortment of scraps from a junkyard can be used to create something useful. he has a knack for fixing things that are broken, and his confidence in this ability borders on arrogance, and if he fails to fix something, he is prone to fits of anger and annoyance.
Despite whatever all his other characteristics may convey, Avery Watson retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in his body language - his walk, his stance, his expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems he borders upon narcissism, especially judging from how much he enjoys his own company.
Avery Watson prefers to push the rules to the absolute limit. While he is unlikely to actually break rules or disobey orders, he toes the line between what is allowed and what isn't at every opportunity.
Despite his line of work, Avery Watson still sees himself as a refined gentleman and will often put on a show of being haughty and arrogant to those he does not know. Avery Watson only lets the mask slip to show his more laid back nature to those he trusts. To those he dislikes, he will actually become even more insufferable as taunts and quips without any regard for who or what he might be offending.
Avery Watson's passion for technology extends beyond his talent with Slicing. He truly believes that wars can be won with technology, not soldiers, and will always try to avoid direct combat if he can afford it. Instead, he prefers to deploy clever traps with Explosives, or turn technology against others as a weapon. Avery Watson would rather overload a circuit breaker to shock a guard into submission than to test his luck with his hands or a blaster. If removed from technology or his gadgets, however, Avery Watson can easily be overwhelmed. Fortunately, he has no qualms with throwing a smoke grenade down and running for dear life.
Avery Watson doesn't like to kill people; instead he chooses to injure his opponent until that person is unable to fight back or is otherwise incapacitated.
