While Kal Arias will see a job through to its conclusion and put forward his best effort, it’s still just a job. Kal Arias's true loyalties lie to his friends, and through thick and thin,he will stand by them and die for them if needed. This loyalty is reserved for those who have earned Kal Arias's trust, putting him at odds with other Mercenaries that are only doing a job for the money. This also makes it harder for employers to trust his motives, often times creating extra competition and difficulty finding work. None of it matters to Kal Arias, though, because loyalty to his friends is not something credits can buy.

Growing up, Kal Arias always liked to have fun, and would even play pranks on others every now and then. That desire lives on to this day, although there is an attempt to balance out having fun with being serious and working. Nevertheless, the scale certainly tips more in the direction of goofing off and enjoying himself. Unfortunately, this drive to have fun more than take things in a totally serious manner can lead to others thinking that Kal is incapable of being serious and getting work done when it's required of him.

Despite an aversion for physical confrontation, Kal Arias has a quick-witted and sharp sense of humour, and never passes up the opportunity to make a quip or jibe about his situation, or to taunt his enemies. While some find Kal Arias to be funny and likeable, others do not always respond so warmly, and occasionally Kal Arias will get himself into more trouble than he thought when someone takes a joke the wrong way.

Kal Arias prefers to push the rules to the absolute limit. While he is unlikely to actually break rules or disobey orders, he toes the line between what is allowed and what isn't at every opportunity.

Kal Arias was raised by pacifist parents, and although he's left home, he tries to honor what they taught him - when he can, that is. Unfortunately, the reality is that the galaxy can be a dangerous place, and sometimes you just have to defend yourself. As such, Kal prefers to use non-lethal weapons and tactics whenever possible, and employs deadly force only as an absolute last resort. But when all else fails, he's not afraid to try to run away or employ a dirty trick or two in order to escape.

While Kal prefers to think of it as "intelligent survival", this aversion to killing can often rub others the wrong way and lead them to look down on him, thinking that he is a coward.

Kal Arias's passion for technology extends beyond his talent with Slicing. He truly believes that wars can be won with technology, not soldiers, and will always try to avoid direct combat if he can afford it. Instead, he prefers to deploy clever traps with Explosives, or turn technology against others as a weapon. Kal Arias would rather overload a circuit breaker to shock a guard into submission than to test his luck with his hands or a blaster. If removed from technology or his gadgets, however, Kal Arias can easily be overwhelmed. Fortunately, he has no qualms with throwing a smoke grenade down and running for dear life.
