While Sera Kaern will see a job through to its conclusion and put forward her best effort, it’s still just a job. Sera Kaern's true loyalties lie to her friends, and through thick and thin,she will stand by them and die for them if needed. This loyalty is reserved for those who have earned Sera Kaern's trust, putting her at odds with other Mercenaries that are only doing a job for the money. This also makes it harder for employers to trust her motives, often times creating extra competition and difficulty finding work. None of it matters to Sera Kaern, though, because loyalty to her friends is not something credits can buy.

There are stubborn people, pigheaded people, strong willed people.. and then there is Sera Kaern. Once committed to something, whether it be a person, a mission, or an ideal, she will not back down, as long as she is able. Under torture or duress, she will persevere, even when it is foolish, and even when her life is on the line. Pain is temporary, after all, but honor is forever.

Sera Kaern is very cheerful and happy, and always looks on the bright side of life. When chewing on life’s gristle, she doesn't grumble, but gives a whistle. She always hopes for the best, and enjoys laughing, smiling, dancing or singing. This unending optimism often improves the morale and spirit of everyone around her, and Sera Kaern is always quick with a smile or a joke, even when drawing her terminal breath. This same exuberance can also be tiring to more jaded curmudgeons.

While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Sera Kaern's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. She becomes focused and quiet, with her smile replaced with a look of grim determination.

Even the most gifted of weapon masters understands the importance of physical fitness and disciplining the body with through martial arts training. Sera Kaern has trained vigorously in unarmed combat by fusing Teräs Käsi and Echani with other unconventional forms. While this martial focus helps bolster her prowess in close-quarters combat, Sera Kaern is still limited in scope when facing down a less direct or ranged threat.

Born with an intractable will and limitless courage, Sera Kaern will stand in the face of insurmountable odds and never retreat. Despite the fact that such acts of heedless bravery are inspiring and will sometimes result in victories worthy of song, just as often they result in her allies getting wounded or killed.
