 e it difficult for them.\n\nWrite a fiction where the main character is fa
 ced with some manner of tragedy.  Often\, these are flawed\, but strong ch
 aracters\, where the unique situations that they have come into are magnif
 ied and made painful by their own shortcomings and weaknesses.   To wit\, 
 Hamlet would handle Iago just fine\, while Othello would have killed Claud
 ius before Act 2 could even begin.  Put these characters in a situation wh
 ere their greatest strengths are not useful\, and let them struggle deeply
  against a fate that they can not truly escape.\n\n- Character development
  and evolution is encouraged\, and descriptive writing is always welcomed.
 \n- Entries must be submitted as a static file (e.g. .pdf\, .txt\, .docx) 
 or using the submission box on the Brotherhood website. Google Docs links 
 and other ‘live’ documents that can be edited after submission will be
  ineligible for placement.\n- If your entry is not PG-13\, please make sur
 e to hide your entry by unchecking the “Allow people to view your submis
 sion after the competition has been judged” box Entries must be a minimu
 m of 500 words. Any entries that are under 500 words will be ineligible fo
