A squat, rotund, and all-round unassuming little man, Schumii’s clammy grey skin is a forgetful shade of grey while his eyes twinkle with a hue of polished bronze layered with a slick of gasoline. The deep creases on his forehead speak of a long life spent out in space, serving various pirate captains and somehow still surviving where they have not. Although not unpleasing to the eye, he cannot be said to be handsome. At best inoffensive, which is a delicate balance he goes to some lengths to ensure.
He carries himself with a back sway, as if overcompensating the pot belly he’s managed to accumulate, though his gait is a hurried shuffle. Whenever he’s forced into motion, he huffs and snuffles almost incessantly, a trait he’s unfortunately picked up with age.
Privateer Schumii (Deceased) has not created any public loadouts yet.
Schumii has adjusted so well to being a pirate he finds life in port, let alone planetside, distasteful and bland. He can partake in the joys of a well-stocked spaceport much like his fellow pirates, but before long he’ll be whispering tales of even greater fortune into the ear of his captain, or failing that, spreading rumors among the crew to make them restless for more. Schumii may not have much in common with a shark, but both will suffocate in stillness.
Every legendary story seems to have at least one charming and optimistic character. If that's the case, then it only makes sense that Schumii has decided to be that person. After all, if everyone is too busy whining and groaning about the negatives, how will anyone ever reach the positive? True, Schumii's constant belief that things will get better can be terribly grating, especially to pessimists or those just level-headed enough to realize when things truly are going downhill, but Schumii's constant positive outlook can serve to sometimes spur others to action when it feels like the world just wants them to lay down and die.
Schumii lives to serve and he serves by his words. His council is infectious, even if not always wise, and where the captain of a ship wields the hard power of blasters and vibro-cutlasses, Schumii knows how to carry soft power like a sledgehammer. He will lie, manipulate, scheme, and bargain his way into the hearts of every crewman onboard and given half a chance, will sink his hooks into anyone he deems of potential use to his ambitions. That ambition is benign, to an extent, in that he wishes his captain to succeed and gather as much treasure as possible. To that end, he’s armed himself with an ever-expanding arsenal of esoteric knowledge, which he uses not only to entice the ambition of his master, but to guide them away from foolish actions as well.
Schumii is always looking out for number one. He may bend over backwards to accommodate the whims of his captain like any good sycophant, yet all the while he will be amassing his own personal fortune. Being of age and intent on living, who else would look after a poor old Duros if not Schumii?
Schumii has a big belly, but no stomach for violence. At least if it is directed at him. Though he has no qualms in urging disposable deckhands into suicidal boarding attempts, the moment he finds himself staring down a blaster he’ll grovel and beg for mercy, deploying the finest Trandoshan Tears in order to garner pity from his would-be executioner.
Schumii has not survived as long as he has by going down with the ship. In fact, he’s got an uncanny knack of knowing just when to hit the escape pods (most likely with pocketfuls of misappropriated loot from the ship’s treasury) and bail on any captain he might be serving at the time. Although some might consider such cowardice reason enough to mistrust him, a more utilitarian view is to see him as a weather vane...
