Athiss

  • Combatants: One Sith, Plagueis, Naga Sadow
  • Points of Interest: Tomb of Vodal Kressh

With the Clans and Houses fracturing under the duress of the war, the One Sith revealed a dangerous new adversary that threatened to finally turn the tide of war against the Brotherhood. Esoteric, a powerful Sith Lord, revealed himself as the mastermind behind the earliest attacks against the Dark Jedi. Instead of inciting the Brotherhood, this knowledge only spread fear and confusion through the ranks of the members of Plagues and Naga Sadow who had been sent to Athiss. Though they managed to stop the One Sith activity, word of the mysterious Esoteric spread like wildfire throughout the rest of the Brotherhood.

Ziost

  • Combatants: One Sith, Plagueis, Arcona, Naga Sadow, Tarentum
  • Points of Interest: Citadel of Ajunta Pall, Great Sith Citadel

In one of the most closely contested battles of the entire Dark Crusade, Ziost, once known as the gateway to the empire was decided not by who won the most honours, but by who left the fewest dead on the field. With the Dark Council seemingly now unwilling to offer even a small token support, the brave warriors of Plagueis managed to secure for themselves this final glory. Given what we know now though, one wonders whether the Dark Crusade was won by the Brotherhood at all..

Svolten

  • Combatants: One Sith, Arcona, Odan-Urr
  • Points of Interest: Mining Facility 37

The war was growing costly for both sides. Despite the horrible losses the Brotherhood had endured thus far, the war effort required raw materials for equipment and weapons. The Grand Master ordered his forces to Svolten, to wrest control of a mining facility from the One Sith. With the other Clans and Houses given alternate missions throughout Sith Space, it fell to Clan Arcona to take on the One Sith. However, they met heavy resistance from an unexpected source--the Jedi of Odan-Urr. Seeking to disrupt both Brotherhood and One Sith, the Jedi of Odan-Urr attempted to destroy the mining facility. Though their “noble” mission failed, the Arconans suffered for their interference.

Bhargebba

  • Combatants: One Sith, Mecrosa Order, Arcona, Scholae Palatinae, Odan-Urr
  • Points of Interest: The Forge of Loka Dan

In the wake of the Brotherhood’s overwhelming victories early in the war, the One Sith retaliated by contracting the ancient Mecrosa Order of assassins. The assassins would go on to decimate the ranks of the Brotherhood’s journeymen until a strike team led by Clan Arcona, tracked down their base of operations on Bhargebba in the Forge of Loka Dan, and crushed the One Sith’s operations there. Though the cost in lives was heavy, the Brotherhood had once more proved victorious against the One Sith.

Early in the war efforts, the Brotherhood, desperate to augment its power, sought ancient dark side relics and knowledge. Under orders from the Dark Council, an alliance of Brotherhood Houses and Clans joined together to assault the Temple of Sorzus Syn, overwhelming One Sith forces. In what would be the first of many victories, forces from Plagueis quickly and decisively established a dominance on the battlefields that was wholly unexpected, carrying the Brotherhood’s victory.

The One Sith were entrenched on Begeren, and the forces of the Brotherhood whittled away as the broke themselves again and again in an attempt to capture an ancient palace. The battle was long-fought and bloody, but no victory was found on Begeren.

Kalsunor

  • Combatants: One Sith, Arcona, Plagueis, Tarentum
  • Points of Interest: Abandon XQ2 Platform

As tensions between the Clans and the Dark Council continued to rise, nowhere more was it felt than between the Arconans and their allies and the scions of Plagueis. Falling down onto Kalsunor with savage grace, the forces from Plagueis, Arcona and Tarentum warred with each other nearly as much as they did with the One Sith, and in the end, Arcona managed to eek out a victory amongst Kalsunor’s trees.

Nicht Ka

  • Combatants: One Sith, Taldryan, Arcona, Naga Sadow, Plagueis, Odan-Urr, Tarentum, Scholae Palatinae
  • Points of Interest: Hexagonal Fortress

In the wake of Begeren, suspicion and mistrust began to break what remained of the Brotherhood’s alliance. Traitors from within turned the Clans and Houses against each other, yet the Grand Master still ordered an invasion of Nicht Ka. Nicht Ka became a witch hunt. Individual factions within the Brotherhood sought the supposed traitor, seeking to use the identity of the traitor to crucify their rivals. By this time, the Crusade was no more. The Brotherhood had succumbed, as it had so many times in the past, to civil war.

Ashas Ree

  • Points of Interest: The Temple of Sith Lord Garu, Freedon Nadd Dark Side Nexus

As the Crusade against the One Sith began to grind onward, it was the planet of Ashas Ree that marked the first time that Grand Master Ashen’s vaunted unity began to fracture. Without fail through the whole of the campaign, more and more of forces of the combined Clans and Houses were being left dead on the planets, and trinkets were being flooded back into the Dark Council’s chambers. After a near defeat at the temple of Sith Lord Garu, Taldryan’s forces were rocked once again as their talismanic leader Jac Cotelin was left in a coma while retrieving yet another artifact for Ashen’s ambitions, leaving Taldryan to question the price of their victory on Ashas Ree’s soil.

Jaguada

  • Combatants: One Sith, Taldryan, Odan-Urr
  • Points of Interest: Darth Gravid’s Fortress

Entering the seventh month of the Crusade, the tensions between the Clans and the Dark Council was beginning to reach a crescendo. Despite being ordered into the system, the forces of Taldryan and Odan-Urr were abandoned without support upon Jaguada’s surface, and only a heroic last stand Darth Gravid’s fortress led by Keirdagh Cantor managed to keep the Brotherhood forces upon Jaguada from being annihilated. When the Dark Council finally arrived with support, at least in Taldryan’s mind, it was no longer clear who the Brotherhood’s greatest threat was: The One Sith, or the Brotherhood’s own leadership.

Dromund Kaas

  • Combatants: One Sith, Taldryan, Odan-Urr, Scholae Palatinae
  • Points of Interest: Ruins of Kaas City, The Dark Temple

As would be expected from the former throneworld of the old Sith Empire, the One Sith defended the ruins of Kaas City and the Dark Temple with reckless abandon. Sent once again with minimal reinforcements from the army of the Iron Throne, the forces of Taldryan, Scholae Palatinae and Odan-Urr were left to take the brunt of the casualties in the assault. Even after a brief engagement with the leader of the One Sith Esoteric, the victorious Taldryan forces were met with suspicion and open hostility upon the arrival of the Grand Master, setting the stage for even more fracturing of the shaky peace Grand Master Ashen had hoped to instill in the Clans.

After the swift victories on Nfolgai and Krayiss II, the Dark Brotherhood’s War machine continued deeper into One Sith territory, with the forces of Taldryan, Arcona and Scholae Palatinae sweeping down upon the planet. Though Arcona led the Brotherhood to another victory, and despite the capture of a valuable One Sith operative named Maxyn Vonnisia Rhelg will always be remembered throughout the annals of Brotherhood history as the planet where one of it’s greatest members went missing: Shadow Taldrya never returned from Rhelg’s icy plains.

Bosthirda... a turning point in the war. Bosthirda kicked off a series of events that would, ultimately, bring the Brotherhood to its doom. The ancient powers of the old Sith Empire awakened on Bosthirda as the Brotherhood battled the One Sith and their Imperial Remnant allies. The Crusade had taken its toll on the forces of the Brotherhood, but it was Bosthirda that finally broke the fragile hearts and minds of the once-fierce warriors. The dead, raised by dark side magic, wreaked havoc on both ally and enemy forces.

Korriban

The civil war splintered the Brotherhood into three disparate factions. These factions split over Muz Ashen’s desire to use the Rite of Immortality to give himself unimaginable power. His attempt to use the Rite on Antei failed, resulting in the near-destruction of the planet and most of the Brotherhood’s fleet.

The remainder of the brothrhood, that is those who didn’t back Muz Ashen’s ambitions fell into one of two camps. Some backed Esoteric in his conquest of the Brotherhood. Others fell behind the Star Chamber and Lord Jac Ae-Sequeira Cotelin.

The Dark Brotherhood, fractured in the wake of events on Antei, set its sights on Korriban, ancient homeworld of the Sith. There, the Clans and Houses of the three factions sacrificed what little remained for the vanity of the Grand Masters. The Brotherhood was brought to the brink of collapse... the Crusade was all for naught.
