The Fist of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood Report
Gaming Statistics
Before I start
I want to personally give a shot out to two people in this club that is well deserving of this. One is Archangel, who noticed my desire to make sure we had more matches and people than the month before. He went and found serveral new people and got them gaming in this club, even taking time away from his wiki lovin and did what it took to make sure we hit the numbers we did. I cannot express my gratitude enough to Arch for going above and beyond the call of what normally is expected from each of us. Next would be my biggest critic Dante, Hes also in the same shoes as Archangel when it comes to wanting only the best from our club and especially from the gaming. Hes been a previous Tribune of Gaming and he knowns just as much as I do, and we all share the same goal to better thing club. As Im usually crunching numbers midway through the month and trying to find soultions Dante and Archangel took the reins and kept asking away and getting those matches in and having fun while do it. Both of these guys deserve all the major props for what we as a club have succeeded so far, its been each month I have seen the same desire from both of them and I appreciate all the efforts. My gratitude goes out to both of these fine members, along with those that took the time and kicked some serious butt in the process, each of you below and above have my thanks! Now for the specifics for the month.

But below are the results 1.st Place: Eetherbiail with a 38-8 record 2.nd Place: Archangel with a 19-15 record 3.rd Place: Melfeckt with a 5-17 record Pendant of Blood for the Best win-loss for the Competition: Eetherbiail

Allegiance
Zero Submissions on this competition, so the crescents went unawarded. Once again, this would have been a easy way to win some shineys!
DBGaming Trivia
Well this went over without too many hitches, besides from the retard neighbor that got arrested and the cops thinking his address was my address and I was him (Thank god I had my Drivers license from Colorado on me and a certified Birth certificate HAHA). Anyways, Results were 1.st place: Howlader, and 2.nd place: Fremoc. Creator of the trivia was Locke. So all three got the LSS's Next trivia will be on September 30.th at 7pm CST, If you have 26 questions of either DB related or Gaming trivia Send it to me, and you get awarded a LSS's if used. (Your questions must be iron clad, with no "up for interruptation") Same rule applies, you must have at least 1 game in before the start of the trivia. Otherwise you can sit and watch the questions and answers fly
Topics of Discussion
Republic Commando 2v2 Sign-up Team Tournament
I will be accepting sign-ups for the 2v2 tournament till midnight on the 17.th of September, email me at (djb.fist@gmail.com) Also please include the best time frame that you will be on to play, so that I may better pair you with someone. Yes I did say I will be pairing you with someone.
Staff Positions
With Fremoc stepping down due to real life concerns, I have been approached by several people asking me if I plan to open up a few spots. While I do appreciate the interests in this, I would like to say that at the moment I will not be opening up a position for the time being. As I am not that busy to the point where I would warrant any Magistrates at this time.
ICTE and Sunday Invitational Tournaments
While this has been dead for some time now, I have had one person constantly come to me want to see this happen again, and as I explained to him it had its many faults in the first place. I will be looking for a way to revamp this long tradition. In the past it had just turned into another gaming day/night and I want to get away from this completely...if the other clubs want a inter club gaming day I would consider it on a 1 day a month fashion. We will have a new channel if the ICTE will be brought back to life, so I will keep people posted on that end, I will start doing some serious work with it during the Vendetta. Sunday Invitational Tournaments were started back when I was Tribune, with some custom stuff give to people in the past. I would like to make this a once a month event again, but there is plenty of work to do with what could if anything be offered...and most importantly how this will run. So keep your eyes out for this as well in the future
Rites of Combat
With the nearing of the Vendetta in October I would ask that all House Summits, forward your members to the Rites of Combat here As many things have been added in, and some are still the same. I will not tolerate that bs in this channel during a vendetta with your members not knowing about the rules, and ignorance is not bliss. So please pass along the rules to them. As the policy will be simple, with serious infractions leading to possible bans and the House summit answering for them, to Kir having to take over. Im not a fan of removal of people, but push the issue too far and you get no where quickly, but a vacation. With acting out of line in the channel will just get you banned, until I have a discussion with the house summit. Like I said in the past, the summits will be accoutable for their members, please do not take this lightly.
Gaming Servers
All the servers are listed here. Adminstraters as follows to help with any problems if I happen to be away JA Server: Muz, Fremoc, Dessan and myself all have the access to restart the server JO Server: Benevolent, Fremoc, Muz, Dante, Kaira, and myself all have the access to restart the server RC Server: Fremoc, Muz, Dante, Kaira, and myself all have the access to restart the server
How Awarding of Pendants of Blood are done
Pendants of Blood are awarded in two fashions. Fashion 1 is when I tack them onto a exsisting competition for your benifit, and Fashion 2 is when its for Gaming Nights. I do not recoginize a ratio or percentage factor, since its gay. Here is my reason, How does a 11-1 record beat a 11-10 record? It doesnt.....What do I look at first, I look at wins first and if those are tied between two or more people then I look at the total games as the deciding factor. I know some people dont like this but, if you want to make sure your in the runnings for a Pendant of Blood dont leave it open and a close call. As Dana White(UFC Fame) has said, "Boys, dont leave it in the hands of the judges." What hes saying is you are the judges, either go all out or go home. Now is there any other way for a Pendant of Blood to be awarded or decided? Yes, Dante asked me awhile back, (yes dante is like my biggest critic) Smoke, I won that pendant of blood for this week why did someone else get it over me? Well if during the week a competition has a pendant of blood already pending for that competition, then those matches would be stricken from the Pendant of Blood for Gaming Nights so any other game would count towards that Pendant. Yes there is always a chance for a second one to be awarded. Now if the competition has no pendant of blood pending all matches would be acceptable.
Houses Competitions with regards to Gaming
Since I do plan on a monthly schedule for all gaming within this club, and with multiple awards up for grabs. I have discussed this with Muz, Korras and Driftan and we are all under the same agreement. That any future competitions would need to be brought directly to my attention (This is not an attempt to micro-manage either) I will either approve or deny your request based on what is currently running, and if the competition looks to draw in more people. Since the ideals behind these types of competitions actually go against, the Rites of Combat. How? Well its simple if the gaming competition is for say only a Battle Team, then we see people only wishing to play against the team. Thus the rest of the Brotherhood is left to suffer. So if anyone does try and submit a competition to Korras or Driftan under the Gaming standard, this will be denied. Please do not blame them, as this was not their idea to begin with....Come see me if you want to vent.
The Rule of 6
What is the Rule of 6? I have seen a trend where a competition was won with a tie, and some of the placers winning with only losses. While I do appreciate the effort put into making our gaming one of the best out there. I still think that having enough people to make this work is the only solution to what the awards are meant for. So as of September 1.st till otherwise noted, competitions will only have the crescents and a pendant of blood awarded if at least 6 people take part in the event.
Comments, Questions, or just random thoughts?
Q: Archangel asked: Are Houses allowed to run their own gaming competitions, and should they go through you?? A: As I stated above, you would need to come directly to me before submitting, and most likely I would deny the competition based on what we do now offer for gaming within our club, but you still have a chance to sway me in your favor. If you have a suggestion I would graciously enterain the idea for a future competition. As I am open to ideas and suggestions all the time. Q: Unknown author asked: Fist why do you always say you dont count in the competitions? A: As much as I would like to award myself a crescent for the massive gaming that I do do or the wins I have accomplished. I dont feel its right to be a Dark Council Memeber and take all the medals away from those that are activity based in the promotions. What am I allowed to award myself? Well Clusters of Fire and Pendants of Blood are my only award the rest go to the memebers, and even I have lost out on Pendants of Blood as well (dang you Dante!!!). Q: Schisca asked: What's the harm in making SC2 official? A: My answer with this has been answered many times over, if you have a idea for a game to be used, I will look at it. If that platform looks like it would get some use, I will run a competition for it, based on the results of that I will determine if I should approach the Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master if they will agree on the concept then it could be placed into effect. What I have seen was a few good games not get the exposure due to lack of interest, or just not even Sci-Fi related. As in the last Report on the August 15.th. We look at games in this fashion Star Wars 1.st, Star Wars Modded games 2.nd, and Sci-Fi related games used last. Now with the lack of modded games and what if any interest we see in them, I normall look at all Sci-Fi games, this is also coupled with the fact that Lucas Arts hasnt released anything we could use in some time. Q: Cethgus asked: Will consul gaming be allowed in GJW's and RoS's as well as on a more regular basis such as gaming nights? A: At the moment, Consul gaming is not scheduled for a GJW or RoS since that would need to be a Star Wars game and we are so limited. As for always being used during a Gaming Night, at this time what I have been instructed was unless that console game is a Star Wars game then it would not be used. Dont get me wrong Cethgus, I love playing Halo3 and I really enjoyed playing some people in this club as it was fun to the max. But I couldnt not at this moment really say it would be allowed. That would need the Grand Masters and Depty Grand Masters seal of approval Q: Keia asked: Where'd you get your mad gaming skills? A: While not to sound egotistical or having a chip on my shoulder, and Im flattered someone would even say this. I have logged so many games in the last 6 years of my time in the DB that I can still remember the months where I went winless with well over 200 games played, does this weigh on a person, yes it does. In the end I found people that were willing to show me the ropes in each game, and with a lot of practice and more and more games. I got better, yes I have been away for a year or so and its taken me alittle bit to get back into the swing of things. However in the near future I will be doing a trainning program with people willing like myself to help others out. Also I will say while I play people, if I see they struggle in gaming I tend to give them pointers and hints. Be that showing them the stuff I have learned to where some of the stuff is in each map. But in the end of the day the worst thing I want to see is my bashing a person has caused them less interest in gaming, and those on my staff are instructed to do the same. Anyone for that matter should always take the time to help those that are new in this club out otherwise we see people lose interest in gaming and go find something else to do. So yes, if when Im on I have never had a issue with helping people out while playing them, in the hopes that those people get better, and can one day have their names on the top of the leaderboard. Q: Impetus M'Nar asked: My internet connection isn't fast enough to play games. Whenever I play BF2 I always get absolutely terrible lag, is that more likely to be a problem with the ISP or the wireless router or what else could it be? A: This is answered in a few fashions, if your getting lag it could be a computer issue, start with eliminating all possible issues. Shut off all the unneeded programs, browsers and chat programs (except mIRC), check to make sure your computer fits into the realm of compatibilty with each of the games (ie: ram, and cpu), finally look at your internet speed its not a factor if your wireless or wired net, just make sure your upload and download speeds are not DIAL UP. If further issues with lag are present look at the router or modem since that is the major connection to the pc and net. Sometimes routers go on the fritz and need to be replaced, other times its as simple as reseting the router. Q: Archangel asked: Will more maps be added to JA/JO, Will more be added specifically for competitions or Like CTF for Vendetta or something, and Will the DB take up creating its own maps for specific purposes? A: I will begin with each part. JA and JO will see some special maps in the future, as always I will allow a vote on what I find on the forums board, but yes we will see some maps in the near future. Next, Usually I will not limit the maps to just for a competition those will always be a single player map, once its on the server it will stay there unless complaints arise of lack of interest. Finally, I do have the programs nessacary to create our own maps, however Ive never had the time to really sit down and figure out the programs, and this does take alot of time to create a map of epicness, so if anyone out there wants to tinker with them, shot me an email and we can talk. Plus creativity will be a huge part of making something to go WOW about. Q: Taigikori asked: Fist, are we bffs? A: Yes we are, and this is why, it comes from the willingness to make sure that this club is top notch, and the fact we do have the same common goal for the club. I can't count how many long conversations we have had in the DC channel about what it takes to make things right, even with the time I spent as a worker for Taig and Aabs in the shadow academy grading exams and trying to make even that are to be the best it can be. So yeah, it takes alot of give and take from both ends. Also dont tell anyone but a lot of its plenty of man loving (sorry taig, but you asked for it :P )
Republic Commando and the Custom maps
In the near future I will be clearing out some of the custom maps that well lack the interest in the club, some will stay on the server in a seperate folder while others will be deleted all together. As much as I like the looks of them, some of the huge maps like Gulch just do not have a use unless its for a team event. Others like Wizard Shot have such a huge following, and is personally one of my favorites that I will not ever get rid of this map. I will be on the look out for maps and will need to have a few outside opinions as to what people think of them.

Aedile Applications Extended http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/post.php?id=5931
As of now I am extending the applications for Aedile to another week. I have only received 2 applications; this is not enough to warrant a position.

If you are interested, application requirements should not be hard for you to find. I am really looking forward to working with my Aedile, and I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity at expressing their interest.

The new deadline for the Brotherhood is Tuesday, the 7th of September.

Thanks!

HNS Quaestor Report 8/29/10 http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/post.php?id=5930
Photobucket
Hi all, welcome to another edition of ye olde reporte.

Doings:

We have made most if not all of the changes to our House wiki pages. Thanks for your hard work, Fremoc. A lot of stuff had to be culled, so we had fun by blowing them up in the runon and whatnot. Blowing stuff up is fun!

Unrest in the City, our fictional Naga Sadow development runon continues at full steam. We’ve had some outstanding writers. And now, even a cameo by Grandmaster Muz to add excitement to the mix. We are right now compiling the info for Clusters of Ice to be awarded and I expect to see a lot of them! I must say, this is one of the best runons I have seen in my entire time here in Naga Sadow- even in light of us being known as lovers of the runon.

Gaming:

Interestingly enough our gamers have really stepped up their game, so to speak. Naga Sadow historically has had a few excellent gamers here and there but never a huge gaming presence. This is changing. As of the last FIST report, Locke had taken a first in the RC bash and we were second out of the 7 houses in number of games played. Kudos to the NS gaming team!

Right now the Carnage of the Golden Age competition is up and running. Kharon (aka Bob) has come up with a stellar idea to combine ACC and gaming in a small House-wide comp. The ACC portion just started today with 4 battle in a ladder, opened by yours truly.

Promotions and Medals:

I must say, our House has been on fire with these lately. Fremoc became EQ2, Locke became DJK, Methyas became EQ1, Venator became GRD, Araian Crass PRT, Seti Leviathon ACO, Araxis DJK.... Masika ACO, and a whole slew of Novices. A happy group works hard, has fun, and gets rewarded.

Manji got an RS, Bob an AK, Sarconn, Araxis and Venator Dark Crosses, Dyrra an Anteian Cross, Jade a CrR, Locke a CrD, and a ton of clusters and crescents. You guys and gals make me so proud to be a part of this House.

Prefects

There were a few fictional appointments as well. Fremoc gained the title of Prefect of Gamuslag, Araxis to Prefect of Inos, and Dyrra to Prefect of Amphor. Historically the Prefect titles were appointed by the Summit in regards to outstanding work on behalf of Naga Sadow.

The title of Prefect is held by military governors of the Dlarit Special Operations Group. Prefects are placed in charge of assets not controlled by one of the corporation's main governors. Prefects also oversee security of any particularly important installations on the main worlds such as Sadow Palace.

It's a prestigious position, and one with meaning both historically and now. Those who hold the title are often former leaders or those who have shown themselves to be leaders behind the scenes in Naga Sadow.I have revived the titles in light of their historical significance and as an opportunity to point out those who truly work hard for the group.

With these new appointments, I have eliminated the position of Prefect of Kangaras and Albarek castle. Kangaras is a private planet now, and Albarek was destroyed. I have also created a new one, Prefect of Inos.

Black Guard:

Look for this to be revitalized an updated soon as well.

Musings:

In short, things are going really, really well with us. I feel us to be in a strong place in this time of forward movement, and expect we will do very well in the upcoming Vendetta. I’m also excited to see the traditional barriers between Houses breaking down with some great communication across the Summits. Truly, we are in a good time and place for the Brotherhood as a whole.

Chamber of Justice Taking Applications http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/post.php?id=5928 Appeals Panel is made up of three members who examine all issues brought by appellants. The Left Hand of Justice acts as the defense counsel during trials, and overall assistant to the Justicar during other times. If you want more detail on the positions, click the links above.

Here are the criteria you must meet to apply:
-Rank of at least DJK
-Past DB leadership experience
-Must have passed the DB Judicial Certification Course - CoJ 1
(in the past, or you can take it now)

As always, I would prefer some "legal" experience as well, such as classes taken in school, etc - but this is not a requirement.

I will take applications until Friday, September 3rd.

Reminder: The Dark Sage (Law) degree from the Shadow Academy requires a term of CoJ service as Justicar or a Hand of Justice. (You can only get that chance if you apply!)]]>
DP Kir Katarn Report http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/reports.php?report=13879 Chamber of Justice Communique #031a On this day, August 27, 2010 of the Liberated Brotherhood, I the Justicar of the Brotherhood now announce the punishment that this Chamber lays upon Maximus Raidoner. Upon the conclusion of fair and just proceedings, this Chamber finds you: On the Charge of Crude Behavior - You did knowingly and willfully submit a link to an inappropriate and explicit image in an official Dark Brotherhood IRC channel and via private message in an attempt to cause disruption. The Chamber finds you GUILTY. On the Charge of Disreputable Behavior - You did knowingly and willfully submit a malicious link which contained malware in both an official Dark Brotherhood IRC channel and via private message in an attempt to cause harm. The Chamber finds you GUILTY. On the Charge of Hacking - You did knowingly and willfully misappropriate the dossier information of Brotherhood members, using this information to generate spam, and then threatened further harm. The Chamber finds you GUILTY. Sentencing for the party is as follows: As approved by a sentencing jury, you will be stripped of all medals and awards, demoted to the rank of initiate, and expelled from the Dark Jedi Brotherhood roll permanently, never to return.
Chamber of Justice Communique #031b DB vs Raidoner - Justicar's Opinion On July 23, a complaint was brought to the Justicar that the defendent had sent a long recruitment email to numerous members of the organization. In the email, he claimed he new Clan to House transition was “proof” that the Brotherhood was disintegrating, and then attempted to convince the recipients to join his alternate online Star Wars club. The Justicar issued Raidoner an official warning for inappropriately using his access to member's email addresses to send spam. On August 1, the Justicar receieved several complaints after the defendent entered #dbgaming and posted a malicious link into the channel. If followed, the link would display an explicit image, begin an endless pop-up loop, and expose users to malware. Raidoner was quickly banned by a channel operator, who reported the incident to the Chamber of Justice. On the same day, Raidoner sent a private message to a Dark Council member, in which he posted the same malicious link. This was also reported to the Chamber. The Chamber convened and determined that Raidoner had violated the terms and spirit of his official warning, and had violated the Dark Covenant. An Order of Advanced Incarceration was put into place to block Raidoner's access to the website, IRC, and the forums to prevent further violations. This Order was approved by the Chamber Appeals Panel as required by the Dark Covenant, Section 8.08(c). Raidoner was notified of the charges, which included Crude Behavior and Disreputable conduct. The defendent refused to enter a plea, instead using the Notification of Charges email thread as an opportunity to insult and threaten the Chamber of Justice, the Dark Council, and the Dark Brotherhood. Several days later, the defendent violated his trial-term probation and his official warning by again using acquired email addresses to send out more spam recruitment attempts. The defendent was notified that the Hacking violation had been added to the charges against him, and responded by threatening that the Brotherhood had not, "not seen the start of it yet." After the plea-waiting period ended, a trial was held, and Raidoner was unanimously found guilty on all counts. After the verdict was decided, the Chamber of Justice determined that expulsion would be the most appropriate sentencing option, as the defendent clearly intended further harm to the Brotherhood. The Covenant requires that all expulsions be approved by a jury, so a sentencing jury was composed to review the material and whether expulsion was appropriate. The sentencing jury came to an unanimous decision that expulsion was appropriate in this case. During his time in the Brotherhood, Maximus Raidoner has been charged by the Chamber of Justice with Abuse of Power, Crude Behavior, Hacking, and Disreputable Behavior (twice). In addition to this, he has been given numerous official warnings, countless IRC bans, and executive reprimands. While his past misconduct could be seen as a series of bad decisions, his newest violations were purposeful and premeditated. His clearly enunciated threats indicated he intended to continue his misconduct and do as much as possible to disrupt and damage the entire club. This type of behavior cannot be, and has not been, permitted in our organization. Signed and Sealed in Justice, Dark Prophet Kir Katarn Justicar and High Protector of the Dark Brotherhood]]>

This by far has been the best month while the total games is slightly down from last months (July was 1375 total), we still have a few more days to get matches in so get those submitted. I will have a full detailed list of all that has been done in the next report! September is looking really good for competitions

Beat up the Gaming Staff

Don't forget this is still going on, with the highest level Crescent open for grabs to the top three people!
Just challenge the Fist, and good luck! The more you play the better your chances. Right now I have Jedi Academy, Jedi Outcast, and Republic Commando working. Im having issues with Battlefront 1 and 2 and Empire at War. Hopefully I will have those issues taken care of by September

My scheduling and other DB Land snipets

Until late this year, I am normally gone till noon CST Monday to Thursday. Taking a few more classes at the local college here, and Im around all day from Friday to Sunday. Luckily I do not have any papers to write this semester! I'm hoping to knock my A+ certification out at the end of the year and get started on the next step. So answering irc questions will be limited until mid-day emails will be the same way since I don't have this stuff forwarded to my cell. Server issues can be directed to a few others

Taldryan AED Apps Reminder http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/post.php?id=5926

Hey all,

This is a reminder for the due date of the Taldryan Aedile applications. I would love to see the potential you have in an application. If your application sticks out above the rest, you will be chosen as Aedile and can begin work to bring Taldryan forward in this unique time in DB history.

Here are the requirements rehashed:

- Rank of Dark Jedi Knight or Higher
- Outstanding knowledge on the way the DJB runs and it’s various mechanics
- 24 hour email turn-around or less
- Understanding of how Leadership works beyond the SA courses (Past Experience required)
- An ever increasing drive to see the DB Flourish and to push for Taldryan’s to remain the top contender in the DJB via competitions, reports, constant communication and ideas to increase activity

You will also be required to: Track Activity via an ATR (which will be supplied to you upon your appointment), brain storm with me and fellow members of the Clan, you will be expected to work on projects and maintain/watch over the current BTL staff. And lastly, I expect you to touch down on how you plan bring Taldryan back to Clan status in your application. Every little bit counts, so let’s hear what you have to bring to the table.

If you are from another House, recommendations from your current Summit will be accepted via PM on IRC or a direct email to myself. Pease don’t forget, Aedile is still second in command of the Unit, so this is no position to be taken on a whim.

The application process started on the 16th of August and will continue until the 30th and are being received by myself, Muz and Sarin. I look forward to reviewing your application!

Until then,

GM Muz Ashen Report http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/reports.php?report=13876 His companion cringed as he watched the old man debate if he had actually ate it earlier or if it was some byproduct of his immune system. This was not the greatness he had seen before on Coruscant. This was not the paragon of faith he had expected, wrapped in the humility of the broken. Loira was broken.

He looked up at him, and the man wondered if he was reading his thoughts.

"I have one other to contact." Loira tossed the disposable handkerchief on the floor of the rented room. "If he still hunts his apprentice, he will prove quite...beneficial to our cause."

"What about the Ubese?"

Loira waved his hand in dismissal, paying more attention to the discarded tissue. "The trigger's already been pulled."

The cloaked man slid back his hood, the stark white of his hair framing his pale face as he studied him with eyes flowing with Force. "Why haven't I..."

"Because it's frelling subtle, that's why." Loira cut him off, and he tried to regain his composure. "It has to be, otherwise there'd be no chance of it working."

He watched Loira pace, the dirty circle of his pace marking the shoddy carpet. The man seemed to be bleeding filth through his pores. He felt a tinge of the old and familiar seethe across his skin. How dare he talk to him that way, when he could crush his windpipe from where he stood, use his lightsaber and carve burning bits of flesh from his body. He envisioned a small pile of gently smoking fingers sitting on the table before him, and he repressed a chuckle before realizing that it was not his way. Not their way.

Not any more.

---------

"Failure is not your way. Not any more."

Ma'ar paced in front of the recruits. Cut from the best cloth that the Brotherhood had to offer, they were a mixture of new faces, some hard from war, some stiff fresh from the Academy. He had Taigikori pull them from those who showed distinct promise, and from Korras' Obelisk trainers. They were a mottled crew, even in their new brightly colored uniforms.

He stopped in front of one of the troopers, noting a smile creasing the corner of his eyes.

"Trooper, why are you smiling?"

"Sir, I am merely proud to be wearing the uniform, sir."

The Kaleesh sneered beneath his mask. Some of them wouldn't learn. The bright and almost nauseating training uniforms were a throwback to the old days, before the Empire fell. They were supposed to encourage them to earn the more protective and all-around better looking uniforms of the next echelon.

Ma'ar moved with preternatural speed, his hands smoothly wrapping around the recruit's head as he kicked him in the stomach, knocking the trooper out of his own helmet, sending him crashing into the far wall.

"Be proud after you have done something to be proud of."

---------

Night had fallen upon the moon of Lyspair, the borealis of the Dark Star shining through the stain glass ceiling. Candles burned throughout the night, leaving the smell of burnt wax and incense in Aabsdu Dupar's nostrils. This was old, a place of learning from before any of them were born. Before even their ancestors were conceived.

Someone else was there.

The deep purple of the Dread Lord's formal robes caught the faint light, the embroidered runes casting shadows onto themselves. Aabsdu barely noticed his successor's entry behind the Kyataran, tall and garbed in blood-red.

"Do you know why you're here?", Muz asked as he stepped closer, signaling the figure behind him.

Headmaster Taigikori Aybara Dupar followed, his arms wrapped around a triangular obect, tightly wrapped in an old piece of cloth.

"No." the former Headmaster's voice carried throughout the endless rows of book cases.

Muz smiled thinly. "Aabsdu...you have been an incredible ally to the Brotherhood. Your work as Headmaster has paid off immensely. Now, Taigikori and I feel you should be justly rewarded. Taigikori, if you please."

Allowing a curt bow without taking his eyes off of the Grand Master, Taigikori let the fabric wound about the object loosen and fall from his fingers. Aabsdu's eyes visibly brightened as he saw the small yet ornate holocron in Taigikori's palms, and it gave off an impressive glow as Taigikori approached his fellow Dupar.

"There..." Muz said, "...is a holocron going to its rightful owner." Muz stepped forward, Watching the former Headmaster watch him with uncertainty. The Dark Lord pulled the power from the holocron, the twisting ethers of the dark side funneling through him, pouring into his target at his gesture.

"This will hurt."

With those words, the Grand Master bore his ebony eyes into Aabsdu, chanting the words of the Sith as the former Headmaster felt the energy of the holocron inundate his senses and mind, flooding his psyche, burning away his ego. Aabsdu smiled, the feeling was wonderful, the gift intense. And more power moved beneath his skin now than even before.

"Arise, Aabsdu Dupar...for you have earned the highest degree the Shadow Academy has to offer." Taigikori smiled. "Congratulations, you have earned it."

It's report time

About a month ago, we announced a big change for the Brotherhood in the adjustment to houses. Not everyone was a fan of this idea, and I count myself among them. Unfortunately, we needed to make some changes in the interest of keeping things here moving along. In the time since the change, we have had some seriously great responses, and some that were just complaining because they didn't like it. At any rate, about a week or two back, i sent a huge email to the house leaders listing out the things that Sarin and I will be looking for in January after the next AWOL check, to see what units are ready, are active enough, are strong enough for the title of Clan again.

In short, we're looking at the awards earned by each house's members, the raw activity of the members, the number of active members and the drive of those members to succeed, to make their house and clan succeed. As I told the summits, this is not a thing that the summit alone can do, and is a great way for every one of the members, from the Journeymen to the elders, to make history.

I'd advise any of you interested in trying to make your clan return to glory to contact your Quaestor and Aedile for what you can do, how you can take part.

More leaked goodies

Promotions!

Taigikori Aybara.

Why the hell isn't this guy EQ3 yet? Taigikori has served on the CoJ, as one of the best praetors that the Shadow Academy has ever seen, proconsul to Clan Naga Sadow, and finally Headmaster since his last promotion. Add into that the fact that he has not relented in his personal work, gaming and fictioning and so forth, and you can see a dynamic member, one that leads from the trenches and motivates people with his own work.

Taigikori has been an invaluable asset to the Dark Council, constantly present and around, working to foster better relations between the clans and the DC as well as trying to bring back the sense of Brotherhood that the whole club needs to recall. His work spirals out into many different aspects of the club, from working with the Fist on gaming questions, to working intrinsically with new members and helping to get the revolutionary Grind Path up off the ground, right down to helping with ideas for graphics and other expansions to this club of ours.

On top of all that, Taigi has done all this without looking for reward. His desire truly is in the advancement of the Brotherhood, the long term survival of this organization that we all enjoy. That selflessness points us all to have premonitions of his eventual rise to an elder in this club. Taigikori, on this day, we salute you, and honor you with a very much well deserved rank increase to Equite Three. Thank you for all you have done.

Ask the GM.

Sidarace asks: Besides the obvious "Mid-Fall" given for an answer, when is the next Vendetta planned to start? Are there any real date set, or is it up in the air?

Right now, I am working with a tentative schedule of launching the next Vendetta, 'Disorder' on October first, 2010. The event will run three short and frantic weeks, and will take place over a VERY short time, fictionally... less than 48 hours.

Benevolent the Bootworthy Hat-bearer asks: How do you get your hair so silky smooth like a lady?

I wash it.

Not-Smoke asks: You mentioned the GMRG some time ago, when can we expect that to launch?

Well, like with too many other projects in the club, we're bottlenecked at the coding stages. There's a plan in place, the graphics are all set, we're just waiting on the coders to execute. We're hoping for sooner than later, but as we all know, coder's time is pretty rare around these parts.

Smoke showed off a sandbox image from the GMRG perks, and i expect that Halc will be talking a bit about the cool stuff I have been developing for the ACC side of things soon as well. Both setups will have a lot of perks to earn, the further you go up the ladder, with robes, armor, weapons, and warbanner options to unlock. There's some other stuff I have been working on for us to be able to unlock, too... but more on that as we get closer to it. In the meantime, g check out the sweet Carnor Jax style polearm on Smoke's Dossier.

TL:DR *Next AWOL in January *Taigikori promoted! *Aabsdu granted Master of Dark Lore *RoS: Disorder due out October first

And that's all for this time. If you have any questions, or anything I can help with, pm me on IRC or shoot me an email. Have fun!

DA Shikyo Keibatsu Sadow Report http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/reports.php?report=13874 Misahide Castle Honba System Kyataru For nearly a month, the usual activity that took place behind the walls of Misahide Castle had died drastically. In its place was a mausoleum that paid homage to a warlord who ascended and vanished without a trace. Numerous times have his brothers-in-arms tried to contact him, along with his own blood. However, there was no trace of the Herald, Shikyo Keibatsu Sadow. Even his second-in-command, Katsuhide, was beginning to believe that the youngest of the bloodline had met the fate reserved for all Keibatsu. As he sat in the courtyard cleaning his blaster rifle again, the sound of hard soled boots slamming onto the mosaic pathway heightened his senses. Turning his weapon on the younger Nihilgenia, Katsuhide slowly brought his weapon down. "Corporal, what's the issue?" "Sir, I have an incoming transmission from the Masarao." The Nihilgenia commander wasted no time in making haste towards the hangar reserved for the ship. For a moment, Katsuhide felt something that seemed like a foreign emotion for those of the Never Born... Hope. Iron Throne Dark Hall Antei Lord Ashen sat upon the throne deep into meditation as so many others had done before him. His brother had returned safely but the Herald had been absent for far too long with no consideration to his duties as a Councilor. As the numerous possibilities rushed through the psyche of the Sith Lord, the doors to the chamber opened slowly and a Krath Elder wearing an unconventional outfit entered. Long leather coat with a cape just barely past the shoulders, two blaster pistols holstered and placed on his upper thighs, two lightsabers clipped firmly on a sash of crimson cloth and black leather. Adorned with the boots of Kyataran royalty and a wide-brimmed hat from some unknown region, Shikyo Sasuke Keibatsu bowed before his brother, removing the hat in the Sith Lord's presence. "Forgive my absence, brother-" "Herald, do you forget your place as a member of this Council? I did not realize I had relieved you of your duties." Words formed on the tip of the Krath's tongue yet simmered slowly as the ebony eyes of Muz Ashen peered into those of the Wolf of Kyataru. There was drastic change in his youngest brother. Where there had once a solid set of gray eyes staring at him, now streams of deep crimson swirled in front of the gray like the sandstorms of Tatooine. Shikyo had tapped into the Force and found something lethal in it, something tarnished. Whatever it was had left its mark on the Adept and it as not simply physical. Something twisted had taken hold of his brother. Shikyo lowered his head deeper and quickly shot his glance towards the stone floor of the chambers. "I was informed of a threat to the Brotherhood. As much as I could withstand the enemy, I believe that they will find us. As Councilor and as your brother, I refused to let the heretics to take my life before I could warn you. I have with me a record of my mission, detailed information on the threat, and the results of my actions. I sincerely apologize, My Lord, but I have one desire at this time." The Lion of Tarthos stared intently at his brother, keeping as calm and as cold a demeanor as inhumanly possible. "That being?" "I am ready to get back to work, My Lord." Let me start this off with a massive apology to the Brotherhood as a whole. While getting my computer was the easy part, setting up internet seems to be the biggest issue here. Apparently, we only get one service provider on base, which provides crap ass service, and expects you to pay tons of money for it. I've tried researching better alternatives but it seems there's no other choice than to bite the bullet and go with crap ass internet. For my absence, I can only apologize for not being as visible as I want. On a much lighter note, class here has started, the routine has been discovered, and I feel like kicking ass and taking names, (Wait, the DB didn't get politically correct while I was gone did it? :P). What does that mean? I got an anniversary coming up and I got a holiday season on the horizon. Lately, I've been seeing some nifty visual sexiness from LucasArts and even have some nerdy types here who are creative as hell. What does this mean? Massive inspiration. My goal is to improve my quality of work, on top of mass producing the sexiness. This is what I aim to do and what I'm certain my Staff is on board for. Expect great things to come from this Office. Finally, I left the Office in the hands of my Staff while I prepared to join the Navy. While the bastards didn't bother to clean up after their mass keg parties, (and I don't want to know who let the gizka out...), they made certain that things ran as smooth and as efficiently as I could hope for. I would like to give a massive shout out to the entire Staff for their hard work, their tireless efforts, and for their continuous support. I couldn't ask for a better team. With that said, look for the next report to be filled with so much awesomeness, you may end up having to buy a new pair of pants. May the Force serve you well... -DA Shikyo Keibatsu Sadow Herald of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood Samurai of the Keibatsu Bloodline]]> Other Realms, Part One: Results http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/post.php?id=5925

I'm extremely excited and proud to announce the new Praetor to the Headmaster, taking her rightful place on the Dark Summit and at my side is none other than Exarch Ronovi Tavisaen Tarentae!!!

Ronovi is one of the hardest working people that the modern day Brotherhood has seen, and I'm one lucky Headmaster for being able to have her take up the position. She will continue to serve as QUA of Tarentum, her home Clan/house while working on a more DB wide scale with me. If you have any decency at all, join me in congratulating this fine appointment.

Aliens vs Predator for both the PC and Console is also under way, three people so far playing this game, so you still have a chance to get in a possible win or at the very least a top three placing. Some super cool goodies for the top three winners as well besides the Crescents and CF's

Modern Warfare 1 and 2 has no submissions, so this would be a super easy win and top three placing for this one!

Due to real life, Fremoc has stepped down as Magistrate. I will not be reopening this position at any time soon. I appreciate all the pm's about questions for the position but at the moment there is really no need for a sidekick or minion. When I do see a need in the future I will be opening the position up. I wish Fremoc the best in the future and when he comes back full time. he will regain his spot back. For all he has done for, me he was just simply the bomb when it came to working his tail off!!! Tarentum QUA Report - 8/16/2010 http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/post.php?id=5920 Photobucket

Hello, Tarenti. I know in my last report, I said my updates would become monthly. However, a few things have come up and I feel that an impromptu report is necessary to clear up some things. There will be the typical reminders and tidbits at the end, but as a whole, it's more of a report I felt that I had to write. So without any further filler, let's get to the important stuff.

Photobucket

Who I Am: Your Quaestor

Lately, I have heard that there have been complaints. Complaints about what I do, how I act, how I respond to situations, etc. There is a belief that I am not paying close enough attention to my own unit, and that I am simply frittering away my time while complaints are being addressed to lower leaders who, frankly, already have a lot of work to do and would rather you addressed them to me. Most of all, however, to some people, I am merely someone who releases reports, writes fiction, and simply sits back as drama kicks in and proper recognition isn't being given.

I want to tell you something: Yes, I am a writer. I do write fiction. Writing is something I'm at least decent at: It's a passion of mine. Run-ons, poetry, stories, plays, music - they're great hobbies and activities and interests for me. I do write reports - after all, I'm someone who has had leaders who don't report regularly, and I end up getting lost in terms of what's happening and what I'm supposed to be doing in order to progress whether in rank or position. So I like to report. Sure, not everyone may read what I have to say, but my announcements have info, something for everyone to read, as it gives members the opportunity to be updated on what's being done and what's being changed and what's being introduced to the house.

However, there is something I'd like to remind at least a few of you, and that's that I'm not just a writer; I'm your leader. I have led a house as Aedile and Quaestor. I have served as Proconsul and Consul of Tarentum while we were still a clan. When I am online, I am monitoring everything, watching you guys work and talk and have fun. I want to be someone to help mediate, to help clear tension, to help alliances build. And sometimes, in my attempt to better the unit, I don't always make the right decisions, or do things the proper way. I'm young. I'm human. And I'm learning.

What I want to reiterate is that I run this house on an open door policy. Meaning, if you have a problem with the way I am running the house, or perhaps you have a situation to bring up with me that either directly or indirectly involves me or another leader...then e-mail me about it. My address is ronovitavisaen@gmail.com. I'm on IRC frequently; PM me. I will listen to you. I will confer with you. And I will fix things or at least try to fix things, things perhaps caused by my own doing. Who knows, the whole problem could be built on a misunderstanding. It could also be caused by a mistake in judgment. All I ask is that you trust me enough to speak to me, otherwise whatever you're complaining about can and may never be addressed.

I am your Quaestor, and therefore your leader. My job is not just to entertain, but to keep the unit stable and functioning, to allow every member the opportunity to grow and perhaps lead one day as well. I have a duty to recognize activity and subsequently reward members for it, and to allow members to be happy and not feel abused or ridiculed where they are. That is my responsibility. But you, too, have a responsibility to this house, to be shining examples for other houses on how to behave, and how to work, and how to confide in your leaders. I have faith in you guys to do this - please don't let me down.
