There is only one word to describe Kelly Mendes and her contributions to House Karness Muur and Clan Plagueis over the last three months: Staggering. She held the reins of our Apostles of Syn Battleteam until her recent appointment to Aedile, helping mentor our newly joined members. She made sure that her communication with her charges was more personal, sending in weekly check-in emails to each of her members individually, helping them through their promotion requirements and directing them toward competitions and other activities. Kelly’s leadership helped guide Tharess Crestar to his Hunter promotion, Nash Himura to the rank of Neophyte, and Toby Matterburn from newly-joined Apprentice all the way to Courier. Her involvement and communication with her charges over that time were integral in shepherding these new members through their early days and making sure they could become engaged by the Brotherhood. Additionally, she has taken it upon herself to help guide her replacement, Athrun Zala, even after her move to House Ajunta Pall as Aedile, providing him with coaching and guidance as to how best engage with her former charges.

Over the course of our recently completed Restoration: Ascendant feud event, Kelly participated in all eleven possible competitions, earning second place in the team Battleplan event. More important than simply her placement in battleplan, however, was her help in guiding the entry when the original team leader had to bow out due to his schedule. Her participation netted 101 total points and left her her only two points behind the tenth place overall finisher. Without her individual accomplishments, taken along with her stellar leadership work, the results of the event would have been much different since Kelly was a major part of generating Karness Muur’s absolutely stellar participation ratio.

Overall, since her promotion Kelly has participated in 21 total events while earning three competition crescents (one each of ruby, amethyst, and sapphire) and accumulated seven Clusters of Ice. Through gaming she has accumulated 131 clusters of fire and 10 Clusters of Earth, and with that activity earned two Pendants of Blood. She has also passed eighteen Shadow Academy courses (10 in the Novitate Hall, 8 elsewhere) and earned a single Pundit and Maven degree respectively. Her continued presence, leadership activity, zealous nature to succeed, and remarkable overall activity level show her to be very deserving of this award.

Kelly Mendes has been a powerhouse of activity over the past three months. During the recent Plagueis/Tarentum: Forged Alliances event, Kelly was one of only two members of House Ajunta Pall to complete all seventeen competition events. Not satisfied with only competing, Kelly put forward some incredible submissions and efforts, winning a gaming event and a cryptogram event, and placing in the top three in a fiction and poetry event.

Kelly exemplifies everything a leader hopes for in terms of active membership. She puts forth her best effort in every single thing she does, and it shows in the rain of clusters and crescents that shower her at the end of every competition.

It is with all this in mind that I strongly recommend her for a Steel Cross. Congratulations, Kelly! Job well done!

When one thinks of a member that exemplifies leading by example, a likely candidate that always comes up in Clan Plagueis is Kelly Mendes. Whether with sky high gaming numbers or maximum participation during events, Kelly always makes sure her presence is known and her name is on the board. Below, I wish to breakdown her overall participation in order to prove her worthiness for a Steel Cross.

Since the last recognition, Kelly Mendes has participated in 39 competitions. Of these, 18 competitions were submitted to the recent Clan Plagueis event, "Vacation on Dagobah", submitting to one hundred percent of possible competitions and netting 48 points during the event. Kelly has earned 1 Crescent with Diamond Star, and 4 Crescents with Amethyst Star for valid placements. Beyond her placement awards, Kelly is also well known in the gaming community for her efforts, and the cluster count shows. She has earned 1 Pendant of Blood, and a staggering 405 Clusters of Fire for 47 PvP matches, and 10 Clusters of Earth for 24 PvE matches since her last recognition.

On the leadership side, the Plagueis Summit attempts to instill in members a proactive, "lead by example approach", as mentioned above. For the last two months, she has consecutively served as Quaestor of House Ajunta Pall, as well as Magistrate to the Headmaster. In the former role, her communication with House members is consistent and engaging. Her influence is clear, and Ajunta Pall provided over half of all valid entries during the Vacation on Dagobah event. As a Magistrate, she was proactive in seeking work, quick in completion of drafts, and always open to further improvement, communication, and implementation. Of note, Kelly single-handedly managed nearly a years worth of Shadow Academy troubleshooting entries on the Shadow Academy troubleshooting form, resolving all problems within a staggering two day period.

Kelly, it is a privilege to recommend you for this Steel Cross. Keep up the amazing work, keep on dominating the gaming sphere, and congratulations!
