Medal Request: Sapphire Blade Phoenix Olkyssagh Palpatine (3612)

Pho is my ho.

For being my best ho, he deserves a Sapphire Blade...

ahem

When Phoenix (warmly referred to as "Pho" or "Phobird") came back and got active with the Brotherhood again, none of us were really sure how long it would last. When Phoenix applied for Proconsul, the Summits were tentative, but now that I look back, we didn't have much reason to be hesitant about it.

Pho has been an inspiration to many new members of the Clan and has been able to come up with several ideas to encourage members to be active: Scholar of the Week, a "Members Spotlight" in his reports, and the recent CSP vs. Arcona Clan Feud. He has supervised the development of the Clan JA Training Days and has provided advice, covering a huge range of topics, to me.

Gotta <3 t3h Pho.

RevengeX Palpatine Quaestor of House Acclivis Draco

---------------------------------

Phoenix is my Proconsul, a position that he holds with authority, a sense of humour and with great understanding. He is always there if you require a helping hand with something, advice on a project, input on a document, a new twist to a story or even just to have a chat to. He is able to juggle the diversity of members that he is responsible for and the workload the position places on him with dignity and mostly with a smile on his face.

He worked with Koskian to create the CSP/Arc feud, bringing the members of the two clans together with a very well-developed plot and competition base. He is responsible for countless ‘behind-the-scenes’ activities that keep Scholae going, and if he’s not working on something himself, he is helping someone else out, making their work lighter.

When I joined Scholae Palatinae, Phoenix was one of the first members who befriended me, not from his position as Proconsul, but as a member of CSP that wanted to make me feel at home. He helped me understand how things are done, what is different, what is the same, explained various CSP-specific concepts to me, introduced me to some of the older members…this is not something that can be overlooked. It is great to know that you have someone who you can go to answer questions if you are new in any Clan. He supported me unwaveringly through the initial “Oh wow, everything is so different” phase, until I was comfortable in my new home – never getting tired of all the questions, all the comments or “Pho…who/what is that?” moments.

I accepted the position of KCE and again Phoenix helped me out with the Chain of Command, setting me up with members who might be interested in the MSP, giving me his side of who would be good as Masters and who needs more experience – valuable information for anybody who is about to entrust the future of a new member to a more experience one.

It all comes together and Phoenix is one of the cornerstones on which Scholae is built. You cannot take out one or two things and say “This is what he did” and only reward him for that – because it is not that simple. Everything he does blends together into a whole, working with the Consul and house summits to create a Clan that is loved by all its members, that we are proud of. For his dedication to CSP, his love for his home, his constant work to turn the Clan into something better, this is very well deserved. Congratulations Pho.

---------------------------------

Who better than I to explain why Phoenix is most deserving of his first sacrificial blade? The answer is no one, because while many people see a facet of what the Proconsul does... it is his Consul that knows his true worth. And I would be glad to keep trading Sapphire Blades for Phoenix's continuous assistance at my side.

Clan Scholae Palatinae recently attained the honor of Second Clan in the Brotherhood Vendetta "Rites of Supremacy: Second Darkness" compiling 330 Clan points - outstripping four rival Clans to affirm their right as an Elite Clan. For contributions, participation and tenacity to ensure the Clan's wartime efforts... I recognize Phoenix's effort. Compiling 71 individual points in the MP Gaming, Fiction & Battle Plan Events and taking the rank of 63rd Overall in the Vendetta. Additionally, it was Phoenix's continuous harassment of the BP Team that helped us stay on pace and reach our final position (3rd Overall).

Additionally, the day-to-day operations of Scholae Palatinae are tremendous. In essence, I alone could keep two Proconsuls busy with trivial tasks that improve the Clan's atmosphere and comradery, but Phoebird seemingly picks up the slack all on his own. Amongst his duties is maintenance of the Clan Mailer, supervision of updates to the House Mailers, reminder e-mails for Gaming Nights/ICTE/SIT, policing #scholae, policing the Clan Mailer, moderating Conclave (Clan IRC Meetings), bridging the generation gap between new and old members, updating the Clan Activity Tracker for monthly preparation, reporting regularly to archive the activity of our members, enforcing the Chain of Command, working with the Palpatines to provide staunch role models and maintain the traditions and spirit the Clan was originally formed in and assist those below him with tasks as to remove the burden from his Consul's ever full inbox.

I would also be remiss not to point out Phoenix's contributions in a House vs. House Feud (an event he helped me moderate, judge and bring into fruition), a Clan Feud (He initiated discussion, helped write the plot, assisted in competition development, worked with members throughout the event and kept up on questions/issues/concerns as they arose from two Clans) and a Major Vendetta (Rites of Supremacy: Second Darkness).

It is through all of these efforts - guidance, leadership, administration - that have helped Scholae Palatinae reach the plateau it rests upon this day. His continued excellence and strive for better things in the name of our Clan resonates through the entire group - making him a valued member, great leader and deserving of this award.
