The shadows of history haunt us.

Lots to cover today, though some of it was announced earlier in the week in separate emails.

AEDILE REMOVED

Aedile Blade Dranal has been removed, but is welcome to stay and be an active part of this House.

I will not be seeking a new Aedile until we get more active people. All I need is a really good Tetrarch, which I currently have.

PROPHECY PHYLE CLOSED

Due to the extreme inactivity of our second Phyle and its leader, Strategos, I have closed it down and placed what semi-actives they had into the Dark Orb Phyle. I hope to re-open Prophecy at a later date, but again, until we get some more active people in this House, I do not need a second Phyle.

THE DARK JEDI PURGE

To fix the inactivity in this House, I am initiating the Dark Jedi Purges. The rule is simple: submit to one competition every two months or be removed. I don't care what the competition is (though CC me if its to someone else's), and I don't care how good the submission is. The entire House will be at least a little active.

The first purge finishes this weekend. If you haven't been active in the last two months, and I haven't contacted you personally, then take the suggestion in the archives seriously.

COMPETITIONS

I have downloaded and am going through the submissions to last month's Writers Festival. I am very happy with how much activity this generated, and will have the results some time this week :)

As per the Consul's request, I'm taking us back to the one-word monthly topics. Our two monthly topics for this month are "Hope" and "Redemption". Interpret as you wish. Please send all submissions to [Log in to view e-mail addresses] in .doc or .txt format, as either prose or poetry.

There is a House run-on! Gasp! http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1398 No major plot as my major plot run-ons keep dying, but there are still themes and ideas in there.

THE ARCHIVE

Vassan suggested this a while back and I really dropped the ball, but I'm looking into a website where member fiction is uploaded for anyone to browse through. The functionality is not present in the House website, so I'll make up a page and upload submissions to my own webspace. You can submit anything you like to the Archive, and it will also count towards the AWOL policy - so if you've come back from a two month holiday and haven't done anything, submit a crappy four-line poem to the Archive and tell me not to upload it :P

No piece shall be uploaded without the expressed permission of the owner - so this "Archive" can work in a similar manner to last month's Writer's Festival (though without the Crescents). Basically, write whatever you want, submit it whenever you have it done, and say whether you want it online or offline. Be as active as you like; there is no limit in topic or content.
