While Tanda has been separated from her family, she never lost sight of who her family were. When off New Tython she made her way to the Gand homeworld to learn to become a findsman like her father before her. It was there where she learned she could become a better one than he ever could because she had access to the Force. Thinking she could make her father proud by becoming a Findsman she spent most of her absence from him learning to use the Force from her fellow findsmen.

Tanda Cal is perfectly capable of fulfilling responsibilities and doing her duties. But goofing off and having fun will always have a heavy sway in her decision making. She sometimes ignores orders or finds ways to spend as much time avoiding an assignment as possible.

While she mostly follows the Gand tradition of referencing herself in the third person she has developed the habit of calling Vadin "my father" as opposed to "this one's father". This stems from the pride she has in her father. This often alienates her from other Gand, even more so from her father because it implies that Vadin is a Gand that is worthy of pride. This distinction is something Tanda has no intention of changing, even though she feels ashamed when Vadin corrects her for her statments.

Tanda Cal is known for walking tall despite being of below average stature. She is quick to anger when called out for her height, and is not afraid of taking on an opponent regardless of their size or intimidation factor. This same tenacity makes Tanda Cal easier to rile up, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation at hand.

Tanda Cal works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Tanda Cal has learned to not take jabs about her stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for her inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Tanda Cal's discipline of never overestimating her own abilities or those of her opponents. She has trained to fully utilize her size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. She knows exactly how to leverage her weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Tanda Cal becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.

Born with an intractable will and limitless courage, Tanda Cal will stand in the face of insurmountable odds and never retreat. Despite the fact that such acts of heedless bravery are inspiring and will sometimes result in victories worthy of song, just as often they result in her allies getting wounded or killed.
