Dek desire to seek extensive knowledge not only for wanting to be in control, but for the ability to unhinge. He finds power in the ability to subvert structures and rules for his own needs. His desire to see the atomic bonds of the galaxy breaking at his command are great. Indeed, he sees this can be achieved through a great knowing of many things. It is through this that people may avoid him, not knowing how he'll use the power at the tips of his fingers. However, some may find his extensive ability to truly know someone valuable.

Dek believes in the power of laws. To Dek, everyone should be following laws, and those who break them without regard don’t deserve any themselves. Yet, Dek will be the first to admit that the origin of a law is almost as important as the law itself. With a weak or illegitimate origin, the law should (in Dek’s mind) be broken. Because of this, Dek is distrusted by those who work with him. Equally, Dek doesn’t understand that this belief system turns people away from him.

Dek is not devoted to death and hatred much like other Sith are. His pursuits are clearly in the form of knowledge and leadership. This extends to how he views death and duty. For Dek, death should be natural and mostly unnecessary. While he will defend himself, and attacks those of evil intentions, he may not seek out the violent delights of his friends. This leads some to truly value the pact of Dek, while other darksiders and Sith see these actions as a deception of what the core tenets of the Sith are. However, Dek himself sees his actions as fulfilling the Sith codes.

Dek understands that Force Users exist in small numbers all over the galaxy. However, those who do not have that power are not seen without merit in the eyes of Dek. Dek recognizes the strength, knowledge, and infinite power of all things. While some see this as a positive appraisal of all living beings, others understand that this can lead Dek to be manipulative. They become wary of what value Dek truly sees in them, and whether it is for personal gain, or ideological imperialism that Dek holds to himself, or not.

Through careful study and dedication to isolated martial-combat, Dek Iron'yikut has turned the act of dueling into an art form. A keen eye and attention to detail allows him the ability to learn their opponent's idiosyncrasies while fighting. Dek Iron'yikut then uses his own skills to capitalize on the opponent's weakness. Because of this calculated approach to isolated duels, Dek Iron'yikut has a harder time taking on multiple opponents at once at higher skill levels.

Dek is both a commander and a warrior. He sees war as both something that should be done and appreciated from afar. Thus, war is an art that must be interpreted and conquered. Waxing philosophical about war, economics, and tactics is something Dek does on a daily basis. He will use a combination of the skills Intellect and Tactics when he is in combat. Some see the value of such thoughts, but many see it as purely pretentious and pointless in combat situations.
