Calindra is youthful and delicate-looking woman with dark brown eyes; full bodied lips; pale silky skin; a slender neck and delicate brows. Wisps of unruly golden tresses wave gently in the breeze, the bulk of which she brushes back with a casual gesture in the hopes to capture the unruly strands into a hastily tied ponytail.
Growing up on Alderaan's only desertic colony (Tepasi II), Calindra Hejaran feels most at home when surrounded by sand dunes and the blazing suns of the desert. She adapts well to drier climates, by espousing a manner of dress that protects her from the harsh sun and sandstorms, covering her hair and face with a silk shawl and wearing loose fitting clothes.
As she learns more and explores the Galaxy, she can be overwhelmed when coming across unfamiliar sights such as large bodies of waters, a thriving metropolis, or colorful jungles.
Calindra Hejaran has grown up among her homeworld's deeply spiritual and superstitious desertic tribes. Because of this, Calindra Hejaran has espoused the Tepasi's belief that life is a never ending struggle between life and death, dark and bright. Sometimes the light must brave the darkness. Sometimes the shadow wins.
In order to survive, she has no qualms in resorting to violence, however she follows the Tepasi's strict code that demands that they veil their faces when they are about to kill, unveiling only when she has decided to spare someone's life or if the battle has ended.
Calindra now shares a spiritual bond with a Force Spirit, which can take over Calindra Hejaran's body.
Whenever Usiku Wa’joto is in control, he will claim to be her, but small tells will betray it. For example, Wa’joto is left-handed compared to Calindra Hejaran's usual right-handedness; nor will it always recognise Calindra’s friends or enemies. The spirit will also express itself differently; avoiding people's names and employing an archaic form of syntax like calling light posts ‘torches’ or a necklace a ‘talisman.’
The Force spirit Usiku Wa’joto was born (and died) several millennia ago and the Galaxy it once knew, no longer exists; therefore it no longer has a particular world to call home. This utter lack of affiliation will put Usiku Wa’joto at odds with those that value such things in the present, but doesn’t care about the galaxy's current political allegiances, and would rather seek out places where it once felt the most at peace: a desertic worlds or among its nomadic tribes. Usiku Wa’joto is now intent on finding traces of its ancient life or anything that reminds it of the ancient tribal customs that once governed its early life, before those simple joys were taken away.
When Usiku Wa’joto is in control of Calindra Hejaran, it favors its left hand and executes a series of aggressive slashes that link into each other as it twirls about the field of combat as if part of an ancient, intricate, whirling dance. While deadly and unpredictable, it is vastly different from Calindra Hejaran's personal combat style noted on her personnel records.
Those that have studied Calindra Hejaran’s personnel records, or have worked closely or trained with Calindra Hejaran, will know that she has a strong duelist's approach to combat, where a keen eye and attention to detail allowed her to learn her opponent's idiosyncrasies in order to capitalize and exploit their weakness, turning each duel into a distinct artform. Usiku Wa’joto's skills are just as deadly, but it is more savage and brutal, than pleasing to watch.
The Force Spirit Usiku Wa’joto is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. It has spent its entire life building itself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has lead it to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others — even to Calindra Hejaran’s superiors and subordinates.
