Drake is stocky of build. His beige skin color and steel-gray eyes serve to contrast his lighter hair hue. His hair is a very light brown-grey, due to his half-Hapan parentage. He keeps his short hair well-groomed and his face cleanly shaven. Very notably, Drake is missing about a portion of his right hand ring finger. The scarring traces diagonally almost perfectly to meet diagonally with the first knuckle of said ring finger. When shirtless, countless numbers of smaller knife-like scars can be observed along the surface of both his arms, chest, and back. By contrast, his face is virtually unmarred by scarring.
Drake Mallard has no home planet, at least not one that he can remember. As a child, Drake Mallard would spend most of his time on different starships and grew accustomed to the atmosphere and nuances of space and the various crafts that traverse it. As a result, Drake Mallard feels more comfortable on a ship than on any planet.
Drake Mallard is no greenhorn when it comes to dealing with those who wish him ill. At some point, he managed to cross the wrong people, and now they've got a mark on his hide for it. While such experiences have hardened him for adrenaline-filled moments of evading those who seek to make him their quarry, he can never be quite sure if he is truly safe, for promises of wealth or power can turn even the most seemingly stalwart of allies to enemies with knives poised at his back.
Drake Mallard doesn't like to work in groups or teams and feels most comfortable on his own. Drake Mallard sticks to himself, sets his own pace, and doesn't share feelings or emotions with others. While the Lone Wolf can get things done quietly and efficiently, he tends to be emotionally cut off and has problems relating to his comrades.
Drake Mallard tells it like he sees it, when he thinks it; and he doesn't try to sugar coat what he says.
Through careful study and dedication to isolated martial-combat, Drake Mallard has turned the act of dueling into an art form. A keen eye and attention to detail allows him the ability to learn their opponent's idiosyncrasies while fighting. Drake Mallard then uses his own skills to capitalize on the opponent's weakness. Because of this calculated approach to isolated duels, Drake Mallard has a harder time taking on multiple opponents at once at higher skill levels.
Drake Mallard doesn't like to kill people; instead he chooses to injure his opponent until that person is unable to fight back or is otherwise incapacitated.
