Rhiaen Ust’essi and her sister, Nalia Ust’essi, have a two woman musical act, playing in backwater cantinas across the galaxy and entertaining patrons through one means or another. Both sisters are also covert spies, having been recruited by the Voice of the Brotherhood to be intelligence operatives. Using their occupation as a cover for ulterior motives, they are exceptionally skilled at extracting information from key individuals through use of manipulation, seduction or sabotage. As travelling entertainers, it is also possible for the sisters to seek invitation to private functions, where information vital to the Brotherhood could be gathered.

The two sisters walk a fine line between Light and Dark. Though they speak of supporting the Jedi Code, they know that sometimes one must do unsavory things in order to protect what they love. This willingness to occasionally bend the rules has led them into the employ of the Voice of the Brotherhood, where they serve as intelligence gatherers. They hope that the information they provide might protect Odan-Urr by earning them favors with a Dark Councilor.

The Ust’essi sisters face constant struggle in virtually every facet of their life. Their love of excitement puts them in a constant battle with the darker sides of their nature, while their employ to the Voice can only be fruitful if they’re able to provide something of value. They seem able to handle the stress… for now.

The Ust’essi sisters thrive on excitement. Living a lifestyle best suited for Zeltrons, they travel wherever there is excitement to be had. With an alcohol tolerance bordering on the unnatural, they are often the first to enter the party, and the last to leave still standing. With such a nomadic lifestyle, there is no place they would truly call “Home,” preferring the cheap accommodations of hotels along their journey or the sanctuary of the Brotherhood's hidden enclaves.

With several means of manipulation afforded to them, the Ust’essi sisters see manipulation as a weapon. Using the Force to augment and improve their tricks and illusions, they are able to weave multi-layered falsehoods with which to hide their true intentions. They often employ tactics in which both individuals act as a single person in two different locations, an effective method for distracting foes.

The sisters like to think of themselves as pacifists, only using violence as a means of self defense. They almost never pull a lightsaber in a fight, save to defend one another under extreme circumstances. Though they try to never break any core fundamentals of the Jedi Code, the Ust’essi sisters are sometimes forced to engage in violence to protect their true identities from falling into the wrong hands. When forced, they prefer to use the K'tara martial art and various Force abilities to quickly and silently dispatch unaware foes in a non-lethal capacity.
