Born with a genetic defect Vynn Salm has no pigment in his skin. This gives his skin a white appearance. Mor superstitious members of his species feel like he is cursed and a bad omen. Vynn Salm however embraces the uniqueness of his situation and tends to put a positive spin on his condition.

Because of his genetic mutation, Vynn Salm's parents abandoned him at birth. Orphaned he was taken to Daemunn by Korvis Manda'vod. Vynn now sees Clan Vizsla as his only family and is wary of other Nautolans until they prove they can be trusted. This can make things tense when having dealings with even the most well-meaning of his species.

Vynn Salm doesn't do anything without first having a plan, and is constantly overheard advising others to always “think through their exits”. Every movement he makes—be it combative, manipulative or otherwise—is premeditated and thought out ahead of time. This foresight often places Vynn Salm two steps ahead of his peers. However, when plans go awry, Vynn Salm often has to first backtrack those same two steps to address the present, and that hesitation can often be line between success and failure in the heat of a situation.

Vynn Salm doesn't like to work in groups or teams and feels most comfortable on his own. Vynn Salm sticks to himself, sets his own pace, and doesn't share feelings or emotions with others. While the Lone Wolf can get things done quietly and efficiently, he tends to be emotionally cut off and has problems relating to his comrades.

Vynn Salm wears out his opponents through use of the Force, agility, and evasion. Once he has sufficiently tired his foes through the Force, physical, or mental assault, he quickly tries to find a means of cleanly and swiftly dispatching them - usually resulting in a somewhat risky all-or-nothing attempt at a deathblow.

Even the most gifted of weapon masters understands the importance of physical fitness and disciplining the body with through martial arts training. Vynn Salm has trained vigorously in unarmed combat by fusing Teräs Käsi and Echani with other unconventional forms. While this martial focus helps bolster his prowess in close-quarters combat, Vynn Salm is still limited in scope when facing down a less direct or ranged threat.
