Atheris is a Shani of below average height and slim build. Their skin is a dark shade of green, nearing black. Their normally vibrant rainbow feathers are typically dyed a dark shade of red and styled into a mohawk. Their eyes are narrow and almond-shaped, a sickly yellow colored sclera, no irises, with a thin vertical black pupil
Atheris grew up never knowing their family. They were sold into slavery very young, and was put to work almost immediately. However, due to their age, Atheris bounced from owner to owner until they became a teenager. Having to endure horrible treatment during this time in their life, Atheris has lingering trust issues while carrying an absolute hatred toward slavers. If confronted with acts of slavery, they will most likely lash out in some way, regardless of it compromises their objective.
Despite whatever all their other characteristics may convey, Atheris retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in their body language - their walk, their stance, their expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems they border upon narcissism, especially judging from how much they enjoy their own company.
All who gain power are afraid to lose it, and Atheris is no exception. Some use their power for good, some for evil; Atheris, however, knows that these are just points of view. They are on a quest for greater power, and uses all their skills and abilities to ensure their supremacy, regardless of the consequences.
Killing has never been a problem for Atheris; and they kind of enjoy it now, if they are honest. Killing's what Atheris does, and they like what they do.
Atheris does not hesitate to take the kill. They do not care if it is honorable, fair, or just. If they need someone to stop breathing, they do. Backstabbing or ending someone who is disarmed and has surrendered is not beneath them. This behavior tends to create tension between them and more merciful allies.
Atheris seems to get their thrills, perhaps sadistic ones at that, from toying with their opponents. Some are content with simply striking down or injuring their opponent, but that is not enough for Atheris. No, they wish to see their enemy descend into madness or kneel before them as a blathering mess; or even better, as a fresh new servant with a muddled mind. The Puppeteer usually forsakes outright hurting and maiming their opponent and focuses on illusions, mind tricks, and other wicked means of destroying a person.
