Current Character Sheet for Vael
Adept Vael, Obelisk Adherent
Vael is an Arkanian Offshoot with a tall, heavily built frame, standing at 1.91 meters and weighing 105 kilograms. His pale skin is marked by scattered scarring along his hands, jaw, and neck, contrasting sharply against his dark, slightly overgrown black hair. Vael’s features are sharp and angular, with a strong jaw, heavy brows, and cold silver-gray eyes that reflect light unnaturally in darkness. His physique is broad-shouldered and powerfully muscular.
Raised among the genetically engineered servant castes of the Arkanian Offshoot, Vael learned early that worth was measured through usefulness. Failure brought punishment, weakness invited suffering, and survival depended on becoming valuable enough to keep. Though Uji’s training has begun reshaping that mindset, Vael still struggles to separate personal value from performance, driving him toward relentless self-improvement and an often unhealthy refusal to accept weakness in himself.
Much of Vael’s adulthood has been spent beneath Uji’s direct supervision on Arx. His training focused not only on combat, but restraint, discipline, and self-control. While many see only a dangerous weapon in the making, Uji has worked relentlessly to shape Vael into something more than the violence he was raised for, forcing him to temper instinctive aggression with patience and measured thought.
Vael rarely appears fully relaxed. Years of conditioning and combat readiness have left him constantly alert, his attention perpetually focused on the people and environment around him. Conversations and unfamiliar situations are often approached like tactical assessments rather than casual interactions. Though this intensity can make him seem distant or intimidating, it also means Vael is rarely caught unaware.
Trust does not come easily to Vael. Raised in systems where loyalty was enforced rather than chosen, he is naturally skeptical of promises and quick attachments. However, once someone earns his trust through honesty, consistency, or shared hardship, Vael becomes fiercely protective of them. Betrayal cuts particularly deep for him, not because he expects better from people, but because genuine trust is something he offers so rarely.
Vael fights with overwhelming speed, physicality, and relentless pressure. Combining raw strength with Force-enhanced aggression, he forces opponents onto the defensive through sheer intensity and constant forward momentum. Though Uji has spent the last few years refining his discipline, traces of Vael’s original conditioning still emerge in combat, where instinct and aggression can threaten to overtake patience and restraint.
Vael’s greatest struggle has never been gaining strength, but controlling it. His connection to the Force is immense, volatile, and emotionally reactive, capable of becoming devastating if left unchecked. Much of his training has focused on restraint, teaching him to regulate pain, breathing, emotion, and instinct through relentless mental discipline. To those sensitive to the Force, Vael often feels less like a man wielding power and more like someone constantly containing it.
