Arlo is actually much smarter than he lets on, using a mask of humor, levity, and simplemindedness to disarm people. This started off as a coping mechanism because growing up, people assumed that his clumsiness (due to his large size as a kid) also meant that he was a lumbering oaf. He now uses this to his advantage. People don't pay as much attention to the fool because they don't expect much of him, and for the Sith, being underestimated is a potent tool for achieving one's goals.

Arlo's fascination with the Knights of Ren is multifaceted, but no reason is as important to him than the fraternity that the Knights represent, in his mind. Arlo didn't have many friends growing up, so his attempts to recruit people into his "Fellowship of the Ren" project is motivated by his desire to have genuine connection. He's always looking for new recruits to his squad, though, either due to the precariousness of the missions he takes on or a clash of personalities, Arlo hasn't actually recruited anyone yet.

Arlo Larosh would much rather be behind a hand of good sabacc cards or a rare vintage of aged liquor than with his blasters or ship. More often than not, he will spend nights at high-end establishments gambling, drinking and "socializing". Arlo Larosh can survive without the finer things, but he sure would rather not. This preference follows him onto the job, so it is not uncommon for Arlo Larosh to insult a client or potential partner by commenting on their choice of beverage or recreation.

Despite an aversion for physical confrontation, Arlo Larosh has a quick-witted and sharp sense of humour, and never passes up the opportunity to make a quip or jibe about his situation, or to taunt his enemies. While some find Arlo Larosh to be funny and likeable, others do not always respond so warmly, and occasionally Arlo Larosh will get himself into more trouble than he thought when someone takes a joke the wrong way.

Even the most gifted of weapon masters understands the importance of physical fitness and disciplining the body with thorough martial arts training. Arlo Larosh has trained vigorously in unarmed combat by fusing Teräs Käsi and Echani with other unconventional forms. While this martial focus helps bolster his prowess in close-quarters combat, Arlo Larosh is still limited in scope when facing down a less direct or ranged threat.

Through careful study and dedication to isolated martial-combat, Arlo Larosh has turned the act of dueling into an art form. A keen eye and attention to detail allows him the ability to learn their opponent's idiosyncrasies while fighting. Arlo Larosh then uses his own skills to capitalize on the opponent's weakness. Because of this calculated approach to isolated duels, Arlo Larosh has a harder time taking on multiple opponents at once at higher skill levels.
