Windos possesses a broad, heavily muscular frame that suggests significant physical conditioning. His skin is a deep, weathered tan which contrasts with his prematurely silver hair which he keeps cut short and swept back. A perpetual layer of dark stubble covers his jawline, accompanied by deep stress lines on his forehead. The skin around his vestigial eye sockets is scarred and wrinkled. He bears identical tattoos of an ornate tower shield on both forearms.
Windos is devoutly loyal to his House or Clan and will follow orders unquestionably. He would sacrifice his own life to protect his House or Clan from harm. This attitude, however, often clouds his ability to see things from an arbitrary or objective point of view and he can come off as extremely narrow-minded.
Windos possesses the steady hands of a capable medic and a functional knowledge of physiology; skills honed to mend, not destroy. However, his life as a Defender demands he repurpose this knowledge for warfare. He exists in a state of constant tension between the healer who wishes to do no harm and the soldier who must eliminate threats to protect his people. He views combat as a form of aggressive triage: utilizing his training to incapacitate enemies with precision, while bearing the psychological weight of every life he is forced to end.
Windos has a military background, and draws upon his experience to tackle the obstacles in his life. This makes him decisive, efficient, and fearless; provides him with a strong sense of duty and strength; which tends to influence his ability to fight and lead. However, a rigid mind is less compassionate towards individuals and less imaginative, and Windos sometimes risks appearing callous, relatable, or incapable of compromising.
Windos has been patching up the wounded for years as a Medic and has come to the conclusion that more often than not, the injuries are either self inflicted or deserved. While he will always work tirelessly on behalf of his patient in an ongoing quest to preserve all life, that doesn’t stop him from scolding or belittling patients that he feels should know better than to walk into a rancor pit with a bucket of raw meat. Windos teeters on the line between compassion and supporting selective evolution, which can make him come off as less friendly or inviting than other medics.
Born with an intractable will and limitless courage, Windos will stand in the face of insurmountable odds and never retreat. Despite the fact that such acts of heedless bravery are inspiring and will sometimes result in victories worthy of song, just as often they result in his allies getting wounded or killed.
Windos possesses a single minded drive for victory, and a deep-seated martyr complex. When presented with a chance to wade into battle versus overwhelming odds, Windos does not hesitate, and instead rushes in, relying on skill, fate or chance to let him survive.
