Current Character Sheet for Nemera Skotos
Lady Nemera Skotos
Nemera has a deep, warm brown complexion and a curvaceous, athletic build. Her dark blue-black hair is thick and curly, worn in an upswept style with loose tendrils framing her face. Her eyes are a striking yellow-gold with grey starbursts, and beneath each eye run elongated golden tear-streak markings down her cheeks. Her lips are full and colored in a deep mauve-purple. Her ears are adorned with delicate dangling gold earrings connected by chains and links along the outer rim. Her nails are long and pointed, claw-like, with her right hand's fingers stained black and fading.
Nemera throws herself into causes with the full force of her considerable skills and intelligence, but without external direction or moral anchoring. When something captures her attention, she commits absolutely. She reorganizes her priorities, resources, and relationships around it overnight. This leaves an undercurrent of volatility; her allegiances and objectives can shift dramatically when a new fixation takes hold, making her an unreliable long-term ally and potentially dangerous to anyone who has built plans around her continued involvement.
Nemera works quietly to assemble a network of loyal followers bound together by the spiritual and cultural traditions of the Firrerreo people, operating through back channels and hidden influence rather than open recruitment. This gives her a deeply motivated and ideologically unified power base steeped in Nightsister teachings. Her cabal's rigid cultural foundation makes it resistant to outside perspectives, and those who don't fit the framework may be discarded or viewed as threats regardless of their value.
Those Nemera claims as her own become objects of fierce, consuming protection, most notably her brother. She monitors, shields, and positions herself between them and any perceived threat, often before the person being protected is even aware of the danger. This loyalty is powerful and genuine, but it comes at a cost. Her protection easily crosses into control. Those under her care may find their autonomy quietly eroded, their choices narrowed, and their lives shaped around her definition of what keeping them safe requires.
Every conversation, every social encounter, is a game Nemera has already thought several moves ahead on. She reads people quickly and adjusts her tone, words, and behavior in real time to steer interactions toward outcomes she has predetermined. This leaves her with an inability to be genuinely present. Authentic connection becomes nearly impossible when every exchange is a mechanism, and over time those around her may sense—even without being able to name it—that something in her warmth feels engineered.
Nemera treats conflict as a problem to be solved before it becomes physical. By the time an enemy realizes they are in a fight with her, they are already standing in a trap she constructed days or weeks earlier. Intelligence, patience, and preparation are her weapons. Which leaves a dependency on time and information. When forced into a situation she hasn't had the opportunity to prepare for, her effectiveness drops sharply, and improvised direct confrontation is not where she thrives.
When Nemera's carefully laid structures collapse and every other option is exhausted, her response is total and incendiary. She burns it down. Whatever the situation, she would rather reduce it to ash than allow it to be turned against her or used by someone else. It is a last resort, but a genuine one. However, fire does not discriminate and is often self-destructive, and what she destroys in a moment of necessity may include people, alliances, or resources she cannot recover—leaving her more isolated each time she embraces her flames.
