Soryn Volkova
Soryn Volkova faces the world with a defensive scowl on her face, only showing her smile and the light in her grey eyes to a select few. Always prepared, her auburn hair is thrown together in a messy braid that cascades down her back. She is the first to step into a fight, often sporting a cut or bruise on her tawny skin. Covered in a smattering of fading fish scale tattoos from her wrists to her forearms, she holds great pride in her fallen ancestry, practicing their fighting techniques every day to keep her thin, athletic form in shape–ready for whatever fate has in store for her next.
Soryn Volkova is extremely competitive and strives to become the best at every task they are given. The benefit of this cutthroat approach to life and work is that they will always give 100%, pushing themself to their physical or mental limits to overcome any task. However, Soryn Volkova’s overzealous ambition makes them insufferable to all but the most patient of companions, making it difficult to make friends while they either proves successful or utterly fails at being the best.
Despite whatever all their other characteristics may convey, Soryn Volkova retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in their body language - their walk, their stance, their expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems they border upon narcissism, especially judging from how much they enjoy their own company.
Soryn stands defiant and ready to fight against a world that has shown her nothing but contempt since her village was destroyed. She is the first to step into a fight, and usually the last to leave. She takes careful care of her sword and keeps what few possessions she has close to her at all times. Her clothes are often thrown together in haste, wearing whatever will allow her to move freely and fight when the odds are against her.
Soryn Volkova considers their work to be the most important aspect of his life. This borderline obsession with the "job" leaves little room for any kind of personal or social life, making it difficult for Soryn Volkova to relax and enjoy spending time with others. They excel in activities that relate to their work, but the idea of work-life balance is an altogether abstract concept.
Born with an intractable will and limitless courage, Soryn Volkova will stand in the face of insurmountable odds and never retreat. Despite the fact that such acts of heedless bravery are inspiring and will sometimes result in victories worthy of song, just as often they result in their allies getting wounded or killed.
Soryn Volkova possesses a single minded drive for victory, and a deep-seated martyr complex. When presented with a chance to wade into battle versus overwhelming odds, Soryn Volkova does not hesitate, and instead rushes in, relying on skill, fate or chance to let them survive.
