Current Character Sheet for Magda Venn
Duchess Magda Venn
Magda Venn has pale skin freckled across her face, shoulders, and arms, the kind of marking that comes from decades spent outdoors without much concern for the consequences. The years show lightly at the corners of her eyes, gentle crow's feet that deepen when she smiles, and a few strands of grey have begun working their way into otherwise chestnut brown hair. She wears it long, past her shoulders, thick with body and wave from the salt air, and almost always down and loose.
Dark, well-defined eyebrows sit straight rather than arched, close enough to lend her whole face a natural intensity. Her eyes are brown, warm and direct. The bridge of her nose is straight, softening to a gentle round at the tip, above a full mouth that tends to rest in a small, knowing curve, as though she's just thought of something she has no intention of sharing. The overall shape of her face is oval, slightly long, with a strong jaw softened by fullness in the cheeks.
Magda is compact and athletically built, with modest muscle that sits close to the bone rather than displaying itself. Her arms and core are visibly conditioned, her remaining leg strong. She carries more physical capability than a first look suggests, the product of decades of training under people who took it seriously even when she didn’t.
She has accumulated tattoos over the years rather than planned them out as a set, the kind of collection that comes from deciding, repeatedly, that she wanted something new and never once circling back to make it cohere. The most striking is on her right shoulder and upper arm: a scavenger bird mid-feasting in the wreck of an AT-AT, talons and torn hull rendered in the same dark ink. Her left shoulder tells a different story by refusing to tell one at all, covered entirely in solid black, as though she got tired of deciding what belonged there and settled the question for good. The rest are scattered across her body: a large sun low on her ribs, a hawkbat curled around her calf, and a DL-44 blaster pistol inked along her outer thigh. Her ears are stretched and fitted with jade plugs.
Her left leg, from the upper thigh down, has been replaced with a prosthetic: black and steel casing along the thigh and calf, with the knee left openly mechanical, cogs and joints finished in brass.
Magda Venn has never pretended to be anything other than what she is: a rich girl who likes the beach, the sun, and the company of people more interesting than the family she left behind. She was written off young and found, to everyone's surprise including her own, that she didn't mind. The life she built from the wreckage suits her perfectly. She is warm, generous, and almost entirely unbothered, and she has never once lost sleep over anyone's opinion of that.
Magda Venn never really learned the definition of true consequence. She has “thieved” and tricked her way into the hearts of strangers, friends, and family but has never dealt with nor experienced a heavy sense of responsibility for those actions. This makes Magda Venn a very carefree soul, but she isn’t one for serious conversations or threats.
Magda Venn would much rather be behind a hand of good sabacc cards or a rare vintage of aged liquor than with her blasters or ship. More often than not, she will spend nights at high-end establishments gambling, drinking and "socializing". Magda Venn can survive without the finer things, but she sure would rather not. This preference follows her onto the job, so it is not uncommon for Magda Venn to insult a client or potential partner by commenting on their choice of beverage or recreation.
Magda Venn prefers to push the rules to the absolute limit. While she is unlikely to actually break rules or disobey orders, she toes the line between what is allowed and what isn't at every opportunity.
Magda Venn has never been a fighter and has never lost sleep over it. The galaxy is full of people who are better at violence than she is, and she has always had a gift for knowing exactly which one to stand behind. Trouble has a talent for finding Magda first, but Vasha Voss, her partner and violently devoted enforcer, has considerably less patience for nonsense, and such trouble rarely survives the introduction. Magda is not brave. She is still alive. In her experience survival is the better part of valor.
When Magda Venn gets in trouble, she finds no fault in bravely turning tail and getting the hell out of dodge. Obviously, this means that she tends to survive even the most deadly encounters... but the same can't always be said for her compatriots. This fact hasn't exactly made her the most popular among her peers, but hey, at least Magda Venn isn't dead yet.
