Be it during a fight or life in general, moral compass means little to Meldrass. If you don’t want a person harmed, you had better specify. General terms mean nothing to them as Meldrass only deals in specifics. If the rules of a duel say you can’t shoot before the count of three? A grenade over the shoulder is fair game, then. Tell Meldrass to stop someone at all costs, well, you better not be concerned if they’re brought back dead or alive.
Meldrass's life is filled with training and learning for all sorts of situations, from the mind-numbingly normal to the utterly bizarre. As such, Meldrass has developed into a rather resourceful individual. This has made Meldrass a mix of academic and scholar, always with something to offer to any discussion. However, knowledge and training does not always translate well to the tense environment of the battlefield, and no amount of textbooks can prepare one for reality...
While generally laid back and more than happy to offer a quip of sarcasm, Meldrass's entire demeanor changes once combat begins. They become focused and quiet, with their smile replaced with a look of grim determination.
Meldrass has been patching up the wounded for years as a Medic and has come to the conclusion that more often than not, the injuries are either self inflicted or deserved. While they will always work tirelessly on behalf of their patient in an ongoing quest to preserve all life, that doesn’t stop them from scolding or belittling patients that they feels should know better than to walk into a rancor pit with a bucket of raw meat. Meldrass teeters on the line between compassion and supporting selective evolution, which can make them come off as less friendly or inviting than other medics.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Meldrass? Meldrass doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Meldrass, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Meldrass isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Meldrass won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Meldrass will still be winning, the best and most dirty way they know how.
Even the most gifted of weapon masters understands the importance of physical fitness and disciplining the body with thorough martial arts training. Meldrass has trained vigorously in unarmed combat by fusing Teräs Käsi and Echani with other unconventional forms. While this martial focus helps bolster their prowess in close-quarters combat, Meldrass is still limited in scope when facing down a less direct or ranged threat.
