Current Character Sheet for Penna Maddox
Penna Maddox
Penna Maddox is a tall, thin woman whose Epicanthix heritage shows in the pale complexion of her weathered skin and the delicate epicanthic fold framing dark brown eyes that have gone slightly cloudy with age. Her once black hair has faded to soft gray waves, which she usually wears down to frame a long face marked with 100 years of laugh lines and crows feet. Her hands bear several small nicks and calluses, evidence of the many tasks a career as a diplomat has required of her.
Penna Maddox has not created any public loadouts yet.
“There’s this funny thing that happens when women age. We become damn near invisible … Nobody sees us coming.”
Matty Matlock said it, but Penna knows it to be true. As a woman of a certain age, she seems to blend in wherever she goes. And she’s learned to lean into it by lingering at the edges of a room and letting others underestimate her while she listens, watches, and pieces things together. This invisibility cuts both ways, though. When Penna needs to be taken seriously or command a room, she has to work twice as hard or figure out a clever way to break through the noise.
Penna Maddox looks at any problem she comes across and instead of immediately complaining about it sets out to figure out a solution. She will work tirelessly to find workarounds or a solution, but can often overthink the resolution and come up with a "fix" that is actually more complex than needed. This driven approach to fixing problems can be helpful at times but grating at others when a simple "restart" would have accomplished the task quicker than re-programming the entire device.
Penna Maddox is a lateral thinker, and when she encounters problems or dilemmas, she is very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows Penna Maddox to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, Penna Maddox can typically explain and lead others through her plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust her outside thinking.
When she isn’t taking advantage of other people’s assumptions and underestimations, Penna can greet strangers and talk to them like they’re old friends. She isn’t shy about filling silence with chatter and going on tangents. And she’s reached a point in her life where she doesn’t care about hiding her quirks and eccentricities. She might narrate her thought process when brevity is called for or crack a joke when she’s meant to relay a message with gravitas.
Penna supportively watches over the fight rather than lead it on the front lines. She hangs back and ably splits her focus multiple ways from defending her allies with Force abilities to contacting them for strategic cohesion and slicing her way into enemy technologies.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Penna takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario she might expect to encounter. She tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and she often finds herself at a loss in situations that go beyond what they could have imagined.
