All her life, Kaela has enjoyed a certain ease when interacting with others. Though she did not realize this at the time, this uncanny affinity was a result of her connection to the Force, which unwittingly imprinted her will upon others in the same way the Jedi Mind Trick works. This led others to acquiesce to her personality and take her side in discussions, making them appear kinder than they might have actually been.

Now aware of this, the ability to sway the mind has become the focus of her training, allowing her to exercise adept control over it, and over others. This has, however, left her training in other aspects sorely lacking, resulting in a more limited skillset that could leave her shortchanged in combat against more well-versed opponents.

Subject to an aberrant connection to the Force that left her wrought with illness and frailty in her youth, Kaela Val holds the potential to rival the Elders of the Dark Brotherhood in power despite her young age. Unfortunately, the existence of such a prodigy cannot be concealed indefinitely, drawing the attention of powerful individuals from across the Brotherhood, individuals that may see an asset, while others see a threat. This undesirable attention puts her, and anyone with whom she forms a bond, at risk.

Growing up with a Bounty Hunter for a father, Kaela found morality has a tendency to be a fluid concept. Though she has always tried to sway her father to the right thing, it is possible that his line of work has also influenced Kaela’s worldview. What is right? What is wrong? Do the ends justify the means? With each passing year, the notion of being a good person has eroded away, leaving her perplexed and impressionable. This confusion gnaws at her, leads her to double guess her every action, even when it could cost her.

Kaela Val wears her emotions on her sleeves, uninhibited and raw for the world to see. Passionate to a fault, her smile will shine brightly with her joy and her eyes will boil with her anger. Few are as true and honest to themselves as Kaela. She is beginning to discover this can be turned to her advantage. By feigning emotions and behaving against expectations, she becomes unpredictable and highly volatile. An effective tool of Manipulation, it risks alienating her peers, who may deem her untrustworthy as a result of her falsehoods.

While Kaela Val possesses a strong connection to the Force, she is also inexperienced. Due to this lack of tangible training, Kaela has a tendency to wield her powers instinctively, through emotions and reflexes rather than knowledge and form. Her Precognition keeps her one step ahead of her enemies, while her survival instincts amplify her movements in the face of danger. She does not yet fully control her powers and many, such as Telekinesis or Barrier, manifest through instinct, and often by accident.

Depending on her instincts and emotions is a double-edged sword. In the heat of battle, she risks losing control over herself, falling into a blinding Rage that could leave her drained.

It was inevitable growing up a Bounty Hunter’s daughter that Kaela would learn to defend herself. She discovered early on that her natural athleticism and mobility elevated her a cut above the average fighter. Whatever she lacks in strength, she can offset with lightning fast strikes and nigh impossible acrobatics, both traits that make up for her technical deficiencies as a saberist. They are the key to her success. But if she were to get hit, her small frame could easily be overpowered, spelling trouble for her.
