Cherry red skin covers a body riding the thin line between fashionably skinny and haggard. Blue hair with neon highlights forms a spiky crown, while his white-blue eyes are hidden behind smiley-face contact lenses.
Beat is perfectly capable of fulfilling responsibilities and doing his duties. But goofing off and having fun will always have a heavy sway in his decision making. He sometimes ignores orders or finds ways to spend as much time avoiding an assignment as possible.
Every legendary story seems to have at least one charming and optimistic character. If that's the case, then it only makes sense that Beat has decided to be that person. After all, if everyone is too busy whining and groaning about the negatives, how will anyone ever reach the positive? True, Beat's constant belief that things will get better can be terribly grating, especially to pessimists or those just level-headed enough to realize when things truly are going downhill, but Beat's constant positive outlook can serve to sometimes spur others to action when it feels like the world just wants them to lay down and die.
Some people see patterns everywhere, but Captain Beat hears them. He hears melodies in the faintest of sounds, and puts them to use in his compositions on the spot. While his music is successful in its own right and his unique perception allows Captain Beat to pick up on audio cues better than most, his near-constant humming has run him afoul of less musically inclined people with short tempers and big fists before, and will surely continue to do so.
Beat is very cheerful and happy, and always looks on the bright side of life. When chewing on life’s gristle, he doesn't grumble, but gives a whistle. He always hopes for the best, and enjoys laughing, smiling, dancing or singing. This unending optimism often improves the morale and spirit of everyone around him, and Beat is always quick with a smile or a joke, even when drawing his terminal breath. This same exuberance can also be tiring to more jaded curmudgeons.
Beat has an uncanny knack for identifying traps and alerting others to them. Now, if only he could consistently do it BEFORE the trap goes off...
Beat vastly prefers ranged combat, taking every opportunity to use skills and Force Powers to disengage from melee and instead fight at range, so much so that he has become competent at staying out of melee in the first place.
