Hikari Kojima
Hikari Kojima
Hikari is a small human with somehow naturally pink hair that falls to her shoulders. Her light beige body is lithe and wiry from her work as a mechanic. Her light blue eyes often go unnoticed because of her hair color. Her hands are calloused from the heavy work she does and has several small scars on her hands and arms that she never bothered to heal with bacta, because who has the time?
The Ugnaughts of Cloud City found baby Hikari while unloading a create of vegetables. A gold locket with her name was the only reason they knew her name. They raised her communally and she learned the studious and dutiful life of Ugnaughts. She retains many features of Ugnaught culture and personality including some speech quirks and any question of her work malfunctioning as an insult.
Hikari Kojima has spent her entire life surrounded by things that were damaged, discarded, or forgotten, and she has built her identity around proving that nothing is beyond repair. Whether working on a starship, a droid, or a complicated piece of machinery, Hikari approaches every problem with relentless determination and an almost stubborn optimism. However, this belief is also her greatest weakness. When faced with something she cannot fix, she struggles to accept failure and may push herself far beyond reasonable limits rather than admit defeat.
Hikari Kojima is known for walking tall despite being of below average stature. They are quick to anger when called out for their height, and is not afraid of taking on an opponent regardless of their size or intimidation factor. This same tenacity makes Hikari Kojima easier to rile up, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation at hand.
Hikari has an absolutely plucky demeanor and is always happy to be everyone's friend, even Alaris. However, when there is a call to get work done, she takes it exceptionally seriously. She hyperfocuses on her task until it is done to her satisfaction, which is almost always above and beyond expectations. Whether it be at a computer, inside a hyperdrive, or repairing the wiring, Hikari's task is done when SHE says it's done.
Hikari Kojima works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Hikari Kojima has learned to not take jabs about their stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for their inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Hikari Kojima's discipline of never overestimating their own abilities or those of their opponents. They has trained to fully utilize their size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. They know exactly how to leverage their weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Hikari Kojima becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.
Hikari doesn't need a lightsaber, a sharp blade, or a blaster. She has her wrench and she uses it to fix many problems, especially problems that are sentient and in her way.
