Praetor Korvyn
Praetor Korvyn
His facial structure is defined by a heavy, square jawline and prominent cheekbones, all partially obscured by a dense, well-maintained salt-and-pepper beard. His dark brown hair is thick and swept forward in a disheveled manner, with noticeable silver-grey strands concentrated at the temples and throughout the crown. His eyes are hazel and sit beneath a deeply furrowed and heavy brow. A thin, vertical scar bisects his right eyebrow, serving as a permanent mark of past combat.
His tanned skin is rugged and weathered, with deep expression lines around the eyes and forehead that emphasize his middle-aged maturity. He is tall and athletic, the result of years of rigorous training and physical discipline. One of Korvyn’s most striking features is his left arm, which is entirely cybernetic. The sleek, metallic limb is a marvel of advanced technology, seamlessly integrated with his body.
Inspired by Revan, Korvyn seeks knowledge from all sources, whether they are traditionally considered Jedi or Sith. He studies ancient texts, holocrons, and teachings from various Force users to broaden his understanding and refine his philosophy. Korvyn views the Force as a vast, interconnected web encompassing all aspects of existence. He believes that the Force is not inherently good or evil, but rather a tool that reflects the intentions of its user. His philosophy is heavily influenced by Revan’s teachings, which emphasize the importance of understanding and utilizing both the light and dark sides of the Force.
Having spent his adult life as a relentless instrument of Imperial will, Korvyn has left a trail of shattered lives across the stars. These "ghosts" are the vengeful survivors of his purges, disgraced officers, orphaned rebels, and bitter rivals who remember his face as the centerpiece of their destruction. Even though he has discarded his oath to the Empire, his sins remain etched in the memory of those he has wronged. This history ensures that no matter how deep he hides in the shadows, his past is an active predator, waiting for him to lower his guard to strike.
Korvyn believes the force is a living entity that guides his actions and he adheres to what he feels is the will of the force. He often consults the force even for somewhat minor decisions that can cause delays in his making quick decisions. This can cause superiors to think of him as insubordinate when his perceived will of the force conflicts with orders.
Korvyn operates as a cynical realist, his worldview stripped of the Imperial propaganda he once swallowed. He has developed a total intolerance for grand ideologies and the "greater good," viewing them as masks for senseless slaughter. Instead, he gravitates toward those who value survival over the empty promise of glory, finding more common ground with a pragmatic smuggler than a zealot. While his bluntness often borders on insubordination, his loyalty is absolute; not to a throne, but to his people. For those few he trusts, he is a tireless shield, more likely to bleed for a friend than a flag.
Seeking the shadows has made Korvyn a great infiltrator. However, his planning and methodical approach can seem slow to those who prefer a more direct approach. This can lead to confrontations about how best to handle a situation as Korvyn desires the stealthy approach at all times.
Korvyn operates with a calculated restraint. To him, the unnecessary slaughter of innocents is more than a moral failing; it is a tactical blunder that fuels the very fires he once sought to extinguish. This internal code defines his combat style, favoring surgical precision over raw destruction. He prioritizes disarming techniques and non-lethal subdual for non-combatants, believing that every civilian spared is a potential enemy denied. However, this mercy often places him at a tactical disadvantage, forcing him into far more dangerous paths to preserve his conscience.
