Thorn can be discerned with his extremely pale skin, sunken eyes with white pupils, a seemingly finely chiseled, gaunt face with a shock of thick white hair. Few have seen his face though, since he generally keeps it covered by a cowl and sunglasses to minimize sudden flashes of light.
He comes to battle wearing a black armor, his lightsaber, blasters or slugthrowers, and a jetpack.
Thorn has a sick sense of humor, viewing the world through dark colored glass. He has a biting sense of black humor, often laughing at things that most people would find reprehensible or down right soul crushing. As a result, those that are not used to his brand of humor often find Thorn downright unbearable or overly morbid. At the same time, his cynicism can be useful for seeing through the optimistic altruism of those he encounters.
Thorn will never go into any situation head-on. Whether it be combat or just strolling down the street, he will stick to the shadows or cloak himself in the Force. The less he is seen, the better. If he cannot sneak up on someone, then Thorn will not bother confronting them.
All who gain power are afraid to lose it, and Thorn is no exception. Some use their power for good, some for evil; Thorn, however, knows that these are just points of view. He is on a quest for greater power, and uses all his skills and abilities to ensure his supremacy, regardless of the consequences.
Thorn's personality was formed after years of observation in the workings of the Galaxy. He understood long ago that power is the most important thing if one wanted lasting glory. Slowly, he developed his personality, comprised of a cold and exacting exterior along with a calm and calculating mind. He is narcissistic, does not shirk from manipulating others and is remorseless. While he may succeed in all his goals, others tend to keep him at a safe distance.
When Thorn gets in trouble, he finds no fault in bravely turning tail and getting the hell out of dodge. Obviously, this means that he tends to survive even the most deadly encounters... but the same can't always be said for his compatriots. This fact hasn't exactly made him the most popular among his peers, but hey, at least Thorn isn't dead yet.
Thorn uses the unique ability of his race to the full. Since Umbarans are possibly one of the few races to see in the Ultraviolet spectrum, he prefers to make the designated area devoid of all light before striking. This translates to destroying light sources or using his skill in Blackness to attempt in getting an unfair advantage. If the use of these is not feasible, Thorn tries to lure his foes in the darkest part of the area where they may be at a disadvantage.
However, such a tactic is not without drawbacks. Firstly, his adversaries can see him with thermal vision equipment. Secondly, any bright flashes of light is capable of disorienting him severely, more so due to his being an Umbaran, which in the midst of battle can be dangerous. Lastly, one can choose not to follow him into the dark.
