Laren Uscot is driven by taking tasks, overcoming its obstacles and succeeding. Though money is necessary to perform any job he may be given, he is neither driven by revenge or bloodlust. His pragmatic approach to work is a means of occupying his thoughts away from painful memories of his torture and time as a slave. However, sometimes he takes on too many jobs at once, leaving him struggling to find a way to maintain his reputation, and his head.

At a young age, Laren Uscot's family was murdered and he was taken as a slave. The majority of workers died, though Laren had an iron will to survive. With the help of fellow slaves, luck, and a thirst for freedom, Laren Uscot developed various skills necessary to free himself from captivity, kill his masters and begin his own journey. Those who find it necessary to vocalize their opinions about his scars, however, will find his rage once quiet is still burning.

Laren Uscot doesn't do anything without first having a plan, and is constantly overheard advising others to always “think through their exits”. Every movement he makes—be it combative, manipulative or otherwise—is premeditated and thought out ahead of time. This foresight often places Laren Uscot two steps ahead of his peers. However, when plans go awry, Laren Uscot often has to first backtrack those same two steps to address the present, and that hesitation can often be the line between success and failure in the heat of a situation.

Laren Uscot is a lateral thinker, and when he encounters problems or dilemmas, he is very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows Laren Uscot to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, Laren Uscot can typically explain and lead others through his plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust him outside thinking.

Laren Uscot undertook training in a local military force, providing him some basic knowledge of combat, tactics and strategy. Though not an expert by any means, Laren can use this knowledge to identify situations during combat that can be used to his advantage. However, those who are heavily trained in a particular type of combat will easily outmatch Laren, forcing him to resort to other means.

When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Laren Uscot? Laren Uscot doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Laren Uscot, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Laren Uscot isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Laren Uscot won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Laren Uscot will still be winning, the best and most dirty way he knows how.
