Laren Uscot is driven by taking tasks, overcoming its obstacles and succeeding. Though money is necessary to perform any job he may be given, he is neither driven by revenge or bloodlust. His pragmatic approach to work is a means of occupying his thoughts away from painful memories of his torture and time as a slave. However, sometimes he takes on too many jobs at once, leaving him struggling to find a way to maintain his reputation, and his head.

At a young age, Laren Uscot's family was murdered and he was taken as a slave. The majority of workers died, though Laren had an iron will to survive. With the help of fellow slaves, luck, and a thirst for freedom, Laren Uscot developed various skills necessary to free himself from captivity, kill his masters and begin his own journey as a mercenary and sometimes-spy. When in captivity, Laren's former masters burnt his flesh where his Pantoran family-facial markings once existed. Though Laren has accepted slavery, his scars are a reminder of his weakness. Those who find it necessary to vocalize their opinions about his scars will find his rage once quiet is still burning.

Laren Uscot is a lateral thinker, and when he encounters problems or dilemmas, he is very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows Laren Uscot to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, Laren Uscot can typically explain and lead others through his plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust him outside thinking.

Laren Uscot has a tendency to be secretive and keeps to himself, relying on deception to conceal his motives and intentions. He is a schemer, and plots and plans against others carefully. When dealing with a confrontation, he will try and bluff his way out of trouble, or overcome obstacles with deliberate, covert actions.

Laren Uscot undertook training in a local military force, providing him some basic knowledge of combat, tactics and strategy. Though not an expert by any means, Laren can use this knowledge to identify situations during combat that can be used to his advantage. However, those who are heavily trained in a particular type of combat will easily outmatch Laren, forcing him to resort to other means.

On the battlefield, Laren Uscot is able to identify various aspects of his environment that can be used to his advantage. Whether it is an object to be used as a makeshift weapon, a human-shield, or an avenue of escape from a superior opponent, Laren has learned that the best way to overcome his opponent is by any means necessary. Though his methods are effective, they are also destructive, tending to damage the surrounding environment and drawing unwanted attention to himself and his opponent(s).
