Buruss
Buruss
Buruss is a Dowutin male with dark black skin and bright amber eyes. As a member of a species without hair, he has no hairstyle to note. He is a towering, massively built figure, with a body type best described as hulking muscle laid over immense bulk, with a heavy barrel chest, thick limbs, and a great powerful belly. His face is broad and dominated by especially prominent tusks and a down-turned, unhappy mouth even when he is at rest.
Buruss’s hands are enormous, scarred mechanic’s hands, thick-fingered and strong enough to manhandle machinery, often blackened by oil staining from years of salvage work and ship repair. His most notable distinguishing marks are old salvage-yard burns across his body and a notched ear, both of which add to his rough, work-worn appearance.
If it has an electronic circuit or gears,Buruss thinks he can fix it; everything from holopads to starships. To Buruss, even the most random assortment of scraps from a junkyard can be used to create something useful. He has a knack for fixing things that are broken, and his confidence in this ability borders on arrogance, and if he fails to fix something, he is prone to fits of anger and annoyance.
Buruss can be very protective, and when any of his friends are being bullied or threatened, he will step in to defend them. This can get Buruss in trouble when he refuses to back down during these exchanges, and sometimes has trouble discerning between friendly teasing and intentional insults. However, because of this fierce loyalty, his friends know that no matter what, Buruss will be there for them.
Buruss tells it like he sees it, when he thinks it; and he doesn't try to sugar coat what he says.
Killing has never been a problem for Buruss; and he kind of enjoys it now, if he is honest. Killing's what Buruss does, and he likes what he does.
Where most err on the side of caution in a confrontation, Buruss prefers to charge in head-first. While others may skirt a battlefield or keep their careful distance, Buruss rushes in with devastating attacks with seemingly no regard for safety, relying upon instinct and possibly armor to protect him from dismemberment and death during his all-out attacks. Buruss is a force to be feared on the battlefield, leaving a trail of death and destruction. However, Buruss's blood-hungry ways put him in far more danger than the normal combatant, often resulting in needless injury and suffering, trading safety for pure offensive ability.
Through a mixture of cocksure courage and arrogant swagger, Buruss will not back down from a challenge when called out, even if the wiser path is to walk away or let it go. Buruss's personality does tend to rub a lot of people the wrong way, which generally puts him into situations that escalate quickly to violence. While he may not be the one to always start a fight, he will always see it through to its conclusion. Some have tried to play a challenge off as idle banter, but when Buruss initiates or accepts a challenge, he does not hold back.
