Born Aurel Venn, Vathra is slight, compact, and impeccably poised at all times. She wears her black hair in soft, side-swept layers, always flawlessly ordered despite the lack of binding, and accentuating her sharp, bureaucratic appearance. Every strand and curl follows a mathematical ratio; her bangs are cut to precise, geometric symmetry. Similarly, her high cheekbones are perfectly matched and set below unblinking, amber eyes. Her marvelously average nose and sharp chin complete her attractive, yet unsettling features. And with skin both pale and luminous, a product of long term exposure to Dark Side energy, Vathra is the very picture of precision turned to madness.
Vathra has a sick sense of humor, viewing the world through dark colored glass. She has a biting sense of black humor, often laughing at things that most people would find reprehensible or down right soul crushing. As a result, those that are not used to her brand of humor often find Vathra downright unbearable or overly morbid. At the same time, her cynicism can be useful for seeing through the optimistic altruism of those she encounters.
Vathra is no greenhorn when it comes to dealing with those who wish her ill. At some point, she managed to cross the wrong people, and now they've got a mark on her hide for it. While such experiences have hardened her for adrenaline-filled moments of evading those who seek to make her their quarry, she can never be quite sure if she is truly safe, for promises of wealth or power can turn even the most seemingly stalwart of allies to enemies with knives poised at her back.
Vathra is extremely cocksure and headstrong. Possessing a keen wit and exceptional level of intelligence, Vathra will often use her superior intellect to humiliate lesser minds. Basically, she is kind of a jerk, and that can sometimes get Vathra in a bit of trouble.
Vathra is known for walking tall despite being of below average stature. She is quick to anger when called out for her height, and is not afraid of taking on an opponent regardless of their size or intimidation factor. This same tenacity makes Vathra easier to rile up, which can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation at hand.
Vathra works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Vathra has learned to not take jabs about her stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for her inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Vathra's discipline of never overestimating her own abilities or those of her opponents. She has trained to fully utilize her size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. She knows exactly how to leverage her weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Vathra becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.
When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Vathra? Vathra doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Vathra, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Vathra isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Vathra won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Vathra will still be winning, the best and most dirty way she knows how.
