Initiate Aelan

When Aelan does things, she makes sure everything is done correctly, no matter how long it takes. This means there are frequent delays in Aelan's work, but it's usually done right, at least.

Aelan has a sick sense of humor, viewing the world through dark colored glass. She has a biting sense of black humor, often laughing at things that most people would find reprehensible or down right soul crushing. As a result, those that are not used to her brand of humor often find Aelan downright unbearable or overly morbid. At the same time, her cynicism can be useful for seeing through the optimistic altruism of those she encounters.

Aelan is mesmerized by anything shiny and can easily spot shiny objects from a distance. This makes her good at finding things of importance or value, but she may also be distracted by pretty baubles.

Aelan has been patching up the wounded for years as a Medic and has come to the conclusion that more often than not, the injuries are either self inflicted or deserved. While she will always work tirelessly on behalf of her patient in an ongoing quest to preserve all life, that doesn’t stop her from scolding or belittling patients that she feels should know better than to walk into a rancor pit with a bucket of raw meat. Aelan teeters on the line between compassion and supporting selective evolution, which can make her come off as less friendly or inviting than other medics.

Aelan works hard to maintain an image of fierce tenacity despite being of a smaller stature. To that extent, Aelan has learned to not take jabs about her stature offensively, but to instead burn them quietly as fuel for her inner spirit. The flame that is sparked as a result is controlled by Aelan's discipline of never overestimating her own abilities or those of her opponents. She has trained to fully utilize her size as an advantage when fighting larger opponents. She knows exactly how to leverage her weight to deliver the most effective take downs or maneuvers. The effort to maintain this image can be draining at times, and when outmatched or overwhelmed, Aelan becomes susceptible to a loss of spirit.

When it comes to a fight, some like to posture, some like to act tough, some like to dance around and go through all sorts of fancy footwork. Aelan? Aelan doesn't bother with exotic battle stances, intricate maneuvers, or super-secret tactics. Aelan, when cornered into a fight, prefers the ancient technique of a good kick to the nuts. And if that won't work, either because the enemy is a woman or has balls of steel, Aelan isn't beyond pulling a few more cheap tricks out of the bag. Granted, Aelan won't be winning any medals for nobility or any prestige for a unique fighting style or a superb maneuver, but Aelan will still be winning, the best and most dirty way she knows how.
