Captain Magda Venn
Captain Magda Venn
Magda Venn is a human woman with pale skin and a full, soft build. Her long dark brown hair falls in loose, tousled waves around her face and shoulders, giving her a slightly windblown look as a matter of course. Her eyes are warm brown, set beneath strong dark brows that lend her face an intensity her easy smile softens. Her features are distinctive: a prominent nose, a direct gaze, and a small knowing smile that sits on her face like a default setting, as though she is quietly in on some joke. Her most striking distinguishing marks are a series of large bird tattoos covering most of her right arm, dark and bold against pale skin. A small personal tattoo in stylized script sits low on her left abdomen.
Magda Venn never really learned the definition of true consequence. She has “thieved” and tricked her way into the hearts of strangers, friends, and family but has never dealt with nor experienced a heavy sense of responsibility for those actions. This makes Magda Venn a very carefree soul, but she isn’t one for serious conversations or threats.
Magda Venn has no home planet, at least not one that she can remember. As a child, Magda Venn would spend most of her time on different starships and grew accustomed to the atmosphere and nuances of space and the various crafts that traverse it. As a result, Magda Venn feels more comfortable on a ship than on any planet.
Magda Venn would much rather be behind a hand of good sabacc cards or a rare vintage of aged liquor than with her blasters or ship. More often than not, she will spend nights at high-end establishments gambling, drinking and "socializing". Magda Venn can survive without the finer things, but she sure would rather not. This preference follows her onto the job, so it is not uncommon for Magda Venn to insult a client or potential partner by commenting on their choice of beverage or recreation.
Magda Venn prefers to push the rules to the absolute limit. While she is unlikely to actually break rules or disobey orders, she toes the line between what is allowed and what isn't at every opportunity.
Magda Venn has never been a fighter and has never lost sleep over it. The galaxy is full of people who are better at violence than she is, and she has always had a gift for knowing exactly which one to stand behind. Trouble has a talent for finding Magda Venn first, but her partner Buruss is a Dowutin of considerable size and considerably less patience for nonsense, and such trouble rarely survives the introduction. Magda is not brave. She is still alive. In her experience these two facts are related.
When Magda Venn gets in trouble, she finds no fault in bravely turning tail and getting the hell out of dodge. Obviously, this means that she tends to survive even the most deadly encounters... but the same can't always be said for her compatriots. This fact hasn't exactly made her the most popular among her peers, but hey, at least Magda Venn isn't dead yet.
