Character Snapshot (Cole Train)
Cole Train, Mandalorian
At 24 years old, Cole Train has a strong, muscular build shaped by years of combat training and life in armor. He stands with a solid, confident posture, his broad shoulders and defined arms giving him an imposing presence even without his beskar. His light skin contrasts with his medium-length brown hair, which falls naturally around his face and is often kept slightly tousled. His brown eyes are warm but watchful. His features are rugged and masculine, with a defined jaw, straight nose, and subtle signs of wear that hint at a life spent fighting and traveling. Despite his physique, there is a calmness to his appearance, as though he is most comfortable when standing quietly and observing rather than drawing attention to himself.
Cole Train does not charge a high price because he has to pay for a life of luxury; he charges a high price because he knows that he is the best in the game and worth the credits. Those who do not know Cole Train will feel he is gouging them, but those who have seen him in action know that he always delivers. This bravado follows Cole Train around and builds on the success of completed jobs and can be off-putting to other Mercenaries that will try and lash back by pointing out his failures.
Cole Train looks at any problem he comes across and instead of immediately complaining about it sets out to figure out a solution. He will work tirelessly to find workarounds or a solution, but can often overthink the resolution and come up with a "fix" that is actually more complex than needed. This driven approach to fixing problems can be helpful at times but grating at others when a simple "restart" would have accomplished the task quicker than re-programming the entire device.
Cole Train has a very bad attitude. He enjoys picking fights and causing trouble, and as such, he isn't phased by most encounters because, let's face it: he tends to be involved in quite a few of them around here!
Cole Train is a lateral thinker, and when he encounters problems or dilemmas, he is very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows Cole Train to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, Cole Train can typically explain and lead others through his plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust him outside thinking.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Cole Train takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Cole Train tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his perpetually pessimistic outlook on daily life can be a bit draining on more optimistic-inclined companions.
Through a mixture of cocksure courage and arrogant swagger, Cole Train will not back down from a challenge when called out, even if the wiser path is to walk away or let it go. Cole Train's personality does tend to rub a lot of people the wrong way, which generally puts him into situations that escalate quickly to violence. While he may not be the one to always start a fight, he will always see it through to its conclusion. Some have tried to play a challenge off as idle banter, but when Cole Train initiates or accepts a challenge, he does not hold back.
