Competition: April Battleteam Fiction

Finished
April Battleteam Fiction

You have your choice for what story to write - details are completely up to the writer to determine. However, your story must at least make use of your main character within the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and involve their Battleteam in some fashion. There are no word limits, and entries are judged in line with the Voice Fiction Rubric.

Each story will be based on its individual merits rather than by response to a prompt as they normally would be.

Note that you must be a member of the listed Battleteam in order to place.

The Onderonian paced back and forth, muttering under his breath after listening to a report. Behind him, one of the Arconae watched in silent amusement as Edraven barked out an order for the DIA Operative to be brought up on a holo conference.

As soon as the young male’s profile appeared, Celevon wasted no time in getting straight to the point. “I’m just guessing here... With the disappearance of our commander, did you assume that we were unable to carry out our duties? Because of your botched assassination attempt, then incompetent actions in covering your tracks, we have a massive clusterfuck on our hands.”

“Sir-”

The Assassin growled, glaring fiercely at the younger Agent. “***You. Were. Seen.*** And, beyond that, the Ol’val Security Force has an eyewitness statement of your incompetence!”

“Sir, I don’t think-”

“That much is obvious,” Celevon sneered, interrupting the male once again. The Onderonian ignored the mingled embarrassment and frustration that appeared. “Were your duties within my purview, you would be returned to basic training if not shunted to janitorial staff for this blunder. We’ll sort this clusterfuck you’ve created.”

“Sir-”

The Assassin gave the Communications Officer a gesture to end the call, stalking out of the area the moment the screen went blank.

“With all due respect, General, why did you not step in when Colonel Edraven was berating one of your operatives?” the Communications Officer asked curiously.

“My own sentiments were not far off from his,” Strategos shrugged, slipping a cigarette between his lips. “Patch me through to the Director - Encryption protocol DN-38-416.”
