Competition: What is the truth?

Friedrich Nietzsche said, “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you."

Objective: In the words of your character, tell me what your character would think this phrase means for their chosen path and write a short story explaining an event with your character that can be linked to the quote. Each submission needs to be 500 words or more.

Submission: Word document or the submission box are the only ways accepted for submissions to this competition.

Grading: The explanation of the quote will be judged based on its creativity, originality and relevance to the quote. The story will be judged using the Voice Fiction Grading Rubric.
