Don’t I Know You Three: You, You, and Me

Is there someone in the Brotherhood that you’ve just been dying to meet? Be it to pick their brain, start a little romance, or maybe just stick an energy beam into their guts? Well here is your chance to do just that! Whether it’s a formal meet-and-greet or a chance encounter, this is your chance to spread your wings and make some new friends - or enemies.

With Life Day (or Sithmas, depending on your beliefs) fast approaching, the season for gatherings of friends and family will give rise to opportunities to cross paths with many people. Some you may have met before, some might be utterly fresh faces. In this installment, your character runs across two other members of the DJB. Special rules may apply. See below for more details.

  • In a minimum of 500 words, write a fiction of your character meeting, intentionally or by accident, face-to-face with someone else’s character that you have never fictionally met before. The “how” is up to you. This other character should be outside of your immediate unit OR someone within your unit that you have somehow avoided thus far.
  • Caveat to the previous requirement, this competition requires that two characters other than your own be part of the interaction, which will be Life Day or Sithmas themed/related. For those that have participated before, you may use one of the characters from a previous entry of this series as one of the two people for this fiction if you so desire.
  • Preferred submission is PDF format, but Word docs and text-box submissions will also be accepted. Google Doc links will NOT be accepted.
  • Grading will be done in accordance with the Fiction Grading Rubric.
  • Adult content is permitted, but do NOT publish the submission if it includes such content.
  • Second Level Crescents will be available to the top three participants, and Clusters of Ice will be applied in accordance with individual word counts.

Due to the grading requirements, expect a slightly longer grading period. It is also encouraged (but not required) that these entries be made with the intention of becoming character canon - be sure to get permission from the other party if you decide to go this route.
