The feeling of love can be a strange thing. It can inspire the most hardened cynic or dishearten the most passionate empath. This time of year, where feelings of love are brought to the forefront, what does it look like for you when that feeling washes over you?

It can be a feeling of romance for a spouse or significant other, or an appreciation for family or a close friend. Maybe your Love is unrequited and now is the chance to take action, or perhaps this is a time to reaffirm what inspired that feeling of love in the first place.

At a minimum of 500 words, relay a story of your character going through this realization of a type of love and what that feeling inspires in them. This comp will be using the voice’s fiction rubric 2.0 for judgement. Mature themes and topics are welcome, as long as the writer takes care to remember the publishing guidelines.
