Event Details

This is the Phase 2 Misc event for Clan Scholae Palatinae’s Words and War event. Not everything is decided by fighting, sometimes the best results come from negotiations. Time to put your ability to debate/argue to the test using the popular Sleep in a bucket game as our basis.

Below is a list that contains five competing scenarios. Your role will be to pick one of the sides for each scenario and argue what side is best. Your job is to convince the judge your side is the best side in the scenario. Participants are free to use any argument, so humor can apply.

  • Scenario 1: Having lightsabers for fingers OR the ability to instantaneously cancel a person's force abilities
  • Scenario 2: Be Raiju's personal slave for a day OR Be responsible for bathing Elincia for the rest of her life
  • Scenario 3: Live on the ISN Sidious for the rest of your life OR Be stuck on Ragnath forever
  • Scenario 4: Kill Pravus & the Collective Leaders OR Save Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor
  • Scenario 5: Having a personal hotline to Shakira OR Joining Korras on a scouts trip
Grading

Grading will be based upon syntax, the strength of argument; whether it be logic or humour. The person with the most winning arguments (out of the five scenarios) wins.

General Guidelines:
  • Minimum word count of 500, maximum word count of 1500.
  • Files must be submitted as doc, xdoc, or pdf ONLY.

Scenario 1: Having lightsabers for fingers OR the ability to instantaneously cancel a person's force abilities
While lightsaber fingers would be the end of all boogers and scratch any itch with an efficiency and permanency yet unknown to man, the ability to cancel someone's force ability wins out. A Forcy without the Force is dead meat walking, and a mundane is no real threat to a Forcy who doesn't go out of the way to underestimate him.

Scenario 2: Be Raiju's personal slave for a day OR Be responsible for bathing Elincia for the rest of her life
Slave to the tentacle monster? NOOOOOOPE. Bathing Eli for the rest of her life is better - especially since that gives me more chances to influence the end of her life. >:)

Scenario 3: Live on the ISN Sidious for the rest of your life OR Be stuck on Ragnath forever
Spacer background. Sidious it is. "Live on" doesn't exclude vacations.

Scenario 4: Kill Pravus & the Collective Leaders OR Save Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor
Pravus stole our loot and the Collective tries to bone us for what we are by birth. They've got it coming. *fires all ze missiles*
As for old Palps, he'd just quarrel with us, so he can stay dead and gone.

Scenario 5: Having a personal hotline to Shakira OR Joining Korras on a scouts trip
Tough one. Shakira is hot, and having her on speed dial and vice versa would make me "a shoulder to cry on" and thus open the door to the second part of the saying... on the other hand, Korras plays with knives. KNIVES, man. But he works with kids... damn. Shakira it is.
