Competition: [HOO] January Run-On

Specifics

If successful, this will be the first of an on-going series of monthly Run-Ons. At the beginning of the month I shall make an opening post on the main HOO MB, detailing the setting. For the remainder of the month the House shall continue the story.

This shall also act as practice for DB-wide Run-Ons.
