Competition: I, Quohari [Fiction]

Finished
I, Quohari [Fiction]

Prompt:

Your character has been tasked with investigating the Quohari, a group of species’ traditionally used as the Vatali Empire’s brute force labor that has little to no political representation. Empress Kaltani no longer controls the Sephi nobles as tightly as she once could and rumors of local rebellions/revolts by the Quohari have reached her pointy ears. The civil war with the Vazeum Dominion has made this situation even worse, with many nobles using the harsher methods of old with regards to controlling the Quohari workforce. Lacking trust in her own nobles and afraid the treaty between them that requires their protection for loyalty will be broken, she tasks Odan-Urr to get to the truth of the matter. What will your character find out about the Quohari and their experiences on Kiast? What have the Quohari been up to? What will they do next?

Write a fiction depicting your character’s experiences on this mission and what they come to learn about the Quohari, their recent actions, and what they plan to do next. Just as important, after the mission is done, would your character report everything back to the Empress or keep some things hidden? A minimum of 500 words (with no word cap) is required. You are encouraged to include other Odanites characters in your fiction. Simply ask to use them.
