Empress Rei's death sent the galaxy into a frenzy of gossip and conspiracy theories. To make matters worse, Shadow Palpatine Nighthunter's ascendancy to Scholae's Imperial throne so soon after Empress Rei's death has certainly raised a few eyebrows and gotten several more tongues wagging.

In this "Word on the Street" fiction competition, you are asked to set the scene about one of the many wild theories being talked about in cantinas across the entire galaxy. The more outlandish the gossip, the better! It can be sinister, hilarious or a completely improbable tale!

Rules

Entries must be a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of a 1000 words (+/- 100 words); therefor any entries that are under 400 words or over 1100 words will be marked as Disqualified.

Grading

Grading will be done utilizing the Fiction Rubric, but we will omit using "Realism" as a grading criteria, focusing instead on:

Spelling/Grammar/Mechanics (25%) Creativity (25%) Story (50%)

All entries will be eligible for grading feedback unless explicitly instructed otherwise.
